Paypal and Squarespace are two leading companies that have changed the way we pay for things. They are online payment sputions, which allow people to buy products online easily. The objective of my article is to compare and contrast these two companies to show their similarities and differences.
Paypal is a financial services company that allows customers to transfer money between accounts. It was founded in 1998 by Peter Thiel, Max Levchin, Luke Nosek, Ken Howery and Elon Musk. Its headquarters is located in San Jose, California. Paypal has more than 185 million active accounts in 190 countries. (Paypal, 2016)
Squarespace is a website creation platform that enables users to create a professional looking website. It was founded in 2003 by Anthony Casalena. The company's headquarters is located in New York City. Squarespace has more than 2 million customers, who use its services to build and maintain websites. (Squarespace, 2016)
Integration of Paypal and Squarespace is a good idea because it would enable users to make payments on their websites. It would also reduce the number of steps needed to make a purchase. For example, if someone wanted to buy something on a website that uses Squarespace, he/she would have to enter his/her credit card details every time he/she made a purchase. If the website used Paypal, the user could log into his/her Paypal account and enter the payment information once. This would save time and effort for both businesses and consumers.
Most websites nowadays use either Paypal or Squarespace as their payment platform. Many of them use both platforms to complete a transaction. For instance, a vendor can use Paypal when selling an item outside North America and then switch to Squarespace when the product reaches the buyer's country. Users can also choose which platform they want to use when buying an item online. For instance, if a customer wants to buy an item from a store that uses Paypal, he or she will be redirected to the seller's website using Paypal and then redirected back after the purchase. This is also true when using Squarespace. For example, if a customer wants to buy an item from a business that uses Squarespace, he or she will be redirected to the seller's website using Squarespace and then redirected back after the purchase. However, integration of Paypal and Squarespace would not be necessary in this case because it is already possible for users to pay for purchases using either platform. (Paypal, 2016.
