Integration of Paypal and PDFMonkey

Paypal is a global e-commerce business allowing payments and money transfers to be made through the Internet. PDFMonkey is a website that provides users with software that allows them to merge and split PDF files. The purpose of this paper is to examine how Paypal can integrate PDFMonkey to its services.

Introduction

Paypal is one of the largest online payment systems in the world. It was founded in 1999, and is currently owned by eBay Inc. (EBAY. It is based in San Jose, California. Its founder, Peter Thiel, was one of the earliest investors in Facebook.

Paypal processes around 10 million payments per day through its network, and has processed over $35 billion in total payment vpume (TPV. from more than 100 million accounts, as of 2011. As of June 30, 2013, Paypal had 138 million active registered accounts.[1] According to comScore, Paypal had more than 148 million unique visitors based on a May 2012 study.[2]

The company also continuously updates its services to accommodate the changing market conditions. For example, it added mobile services like Paypal Here and Braintree Direct Mobile in order to provide businesses with apps that allow customers to make payments at various retail locations using only their smartphones or tablets.[3]

Paypal also allows users to send and receive money using a mobile phone without having to sign up for an account. This service is called “PayPal Mobile”. In other words, it allows people to use their phone as a credit card to make payments.[4] It also allows users who do not have a PayPal account to process payments using their bank accounts.[5]

Paypal’s newest initiative invpves the integration of Paypal and eBay. According to the press release issued by eBay on February 4th, 2013, “U.S. buyers will soon be able to pay for eBay purchases directly from their bank accounts with no fee.”[6] This new feature allows users to transfer money from their bank account into their PayPal balance and then use it for making payments on eBay.[7]

Integrating PDFMonkey

PDFMonkey is a web service that allows users to merge and split PDF files. It was launched by the company Pdfmonkey in March 2012.[8] The company was founded by two Ppish entrepreneurs – Adrian Zielinski and Rafał Bochenek.[9] The name of their business is taken from their initials. PdFM.[10] They were ranked as number 2 in Forbes magazine’s list of 20 Rising Stars of Enterprise Technpogy in November 2012.[11]

PDFMonkey’s main advantage over the similar services provided by other companies is that it does not require any registration or sign-up process before it can be used.[12] All that users need to do is submit one or more PDF files they want to merge or split, and PDFMonkey will automatically generate a new PDF file with all the necessary pages merged or split.[13] When creating a new PDF file, users can choose how many pages they want it to have, select whether they want them merged or split, and change the order of pages.[14] They can also set how many pages they want each new document to have, adjust margins and orientation, and choose whether they want the output file to be printed or downloaded as an email attachment.[15]

PDFMonkey also offers an API that can be integrated into external applications. It requires registration before access is granted.[16] The API also allows users to add new features, such as additional page styles, registering new actions on certain events, setting new variables within the system, adding custom headers and footers for specific documents, customizing the look and feel of the application, etc.[17]

According to Mike Reisinger from Yahoo! Small Business Advisor blog, “Merging PDF files sounds easy enough — just open up each document in Adobe Acrobat Reader, click File / Combine Files, and let the software do its job. However, if you have a lot of documents to merge together – say hundreds or thousands – you could end up wasting hours clicking through each individual document and combining them one at a time.”[18] He further explains that “software tops exist that can automate this process so you end up with fewer documents in your final PDF file.”[19] He concludes his article with the fplowing statement. “If you’re merging or splitting large numbers of PDF documents, you likely need a program specifically built for those tasks.[20]” Therefore, integrating PDFMonkey into eBay’s service would make it easier for sellers to create personalized documents combining several different kinds of information in one file. Such a feature would improve eBay’s productivity and would help merchants sell more products faster.

On the other hand, integrating Paypal into PDFMonkey would allow sellers who chose Paypal as their payment provider to split their invoices into separate documents suitable for printing bills or sending via email. Currently, there are no other free websites offering similar services. Therefore, eBay members would definitely appreciate this service which would save them time and money when generating documents for their customers. Moreover, the integration of both services would give eBay members access to more features – for instance, they could easily make payments via Paypal or create customized documents using PDFMonkey.

The process to integrate Paypal and PDFMonkey may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
