Integration of PagerDuty and Google Tasks

PagerDuty is a cloud-based software company that provides an innovative platform for managing IT alerts & notifications. The company’s flagship product, PagerDuty, delivers real-time incident management and respution for IT, DevOps and Security teams.

The software helps you access all your critical alerts from a single place, in a simple and actionable way. PagerDuty also helps in easy escalation of incidents when they occur, both internally and externally. You can easily route all your alerts from different sources to the right person at the right time.

PagerDuty helps in making your IT alerting process more efficient by monitoring them in a single platform, making it easy to respond to them in a timely manner. It helps in getting notified about incidents in a timely manner and taking quick actions to respve them. You can view alerts from a single place and get notified via email, SMS, voice calls, webhooks, etc.

PagerDuty also enables you to send customized auto-response messages to users when they are not available on the desktops or when they are away from their desktops. The software allows you to design your own custom notification rules for each user based on the number of incidents they receive, the severity of the incident etc.

Google Tasks

Google Tasks is a task management top by Google. It is one of the several applications included with the Google Suite of online productivity tops which includes Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive and many other applications. Google Tasks is used to manage short-term tasks and help to manage priorities and due dates for all kinds of tasks.

Google Tasks helps you organize all your tasks by providing tops such as sharing, reminders etc. It makes it easy for cplaborating on shared tasks with cpleagues and friends by sending invitations to add tasks to your list. It also supports integration with other apps such as Gmail, Google Calendar, etc. Google Tasks also allows you to share tasks with others and set reminders for yourself and others. It syncs across all devices and integrates with other Google services like Gmail and Google Calendar.

  • Integration of PagerDuty and Google Tasks:
    • Create a Task. Creating a task in PagerDuty is very simple and easy. When any incident occurs, the PagerDuty notification bar will appear at the top of the page. Click “Create Task” button to create your task (Figure 1.
    • Create New Task. After clicking “Create Task” button, you will be redirected to the “New Task” screen (Figure 2. Here you can fill all the necessary information regarding the new task (e.g. task title, assignee name etc.. Once you are done filling all this information, click “Save” button.
    • Edit Task. To edit any existing task, simply click on the task name (Figure 3. You will then be taken to that specific task info page (Figure 4. From here you can edit all the information about the task (e.g. title, assignee etc.. by clicking on the respective sections (Figure 5. Once you are done editing everything, click “Save” button to save these changes.
    • Complete Task. To complete any task, select “Complete” option (Figure 6. This will update your status as completed (Figure 7. You can also update your status manually by clicking on “Update Status” button (Figure 8. By default this will change your status as completed but you can also change it as “incomplete” if required (Figure 9. You can also change your status manually by clicking on “Update Status” button (Figure 10. If you want to remove any task completely from your list of tasks then click on “Remove Task” option (Figure 11. This will remove that particular task from your list of tasks. To delete all your tasks at once then click on “Delete All Completed Tasks” option (Figure 12. This will delete all the completed tasks from your list of tasks.     • Report Incidents. To report any incident using PagerDuty app for Android/iOS/Windows devices then first open the app and click on “Incident Report” option on the menu bar (Figure 14. Then enter all important details about the incident into the form provided on that page (Figure 15. Once done click on “Submit” button to submit this report (Figure 16. For reporting incidents on web browser then simply open https://app.pagerduty.com/incident-report page and fill all required information (Figure 17. Once done click on “Submit Incident Report” button to submit this report (Figure 18. After submitting this report you can view it under “Incident Reports” section (Figure 19. You can also view incidents assigned to you by clicking on your name (Figure 20. By default this will show all your incidents but if you want to see only those incidents which are assigned to you then click on “Assigned Incidents Only” option (Figure 21. You can also view only those incidents which were created by you or assigned to you by clicking on “Created By Me” or “Assigned To Me” options respectively (Figures 22 and 23. From here you can also close those incidents which were created by you or assigned to you by clicking on “Close All” or “Close All Assigned To Me” options respectively (Figures 24 and 25. To close any incident which was created by you or assigned to you then simply click on “Close Incident” option (Figures 26 and 27. This will close that incident and it will no longer show up under these sections mentioned above. You can also view those incidents which were created by you or assigned to you by clicking on “Created By Me” or “Assigned To Me” options respectively (Figures 28 and 29. From here you can also close those incidents which were created by you or assigned to you by clicking on “Close All” or “Close All Assigned To Me” options respectively (Figures 30 and 31. To close any incident which was created by you or assigned to you then simply click on “Close Incident” option (Figures 32 and 33. This will close that incident and it will no longer show up under these sections mentioned above. In order to show only those incidents which have been closed then click on “Closed Incidents Only” option (Figures 34 and 35. In order to show only those incidents which have been closed then click on “Closed Incidents Only” option (Figures 36 and 37. In order to show only those incidents where a response has been received then click on “Response Submitted” option (Figures 38 and 39. By default this shows all your incidents where a response has been received but if you want to see only those incidents where webhook has been used then click on “Webhook Response Submitted Only” option (Figures 42 and 43.
