Integration of Paddle and Vend

Vend is a mobile point of sale app which helps merchants to manage their businesses, while Paddle is a cloud-based POS with inventory management and customer loyalty services. Vend was founded in 2010 by Matt Ehrlichman and Justin Kan, who were both early employees of Justin.tv, the live video sharing website. In 2011, Vend received $6 million in funding from Y Combinator and started offering its services to restaurants.

Paddle was launched in 2009 by Alex Pitkow and David Brown. Pitkow had previously worked at Microsoft and Amazon, and Brown co-founded Box.net, a file sharing service that was acquired by Dropbox. In 2012, Paddle received $40 million in funding from investors including PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel and ex-HP CEO Meg Whitman. The company also announced that it would start offering free credit card reader to all merchants. However, in 2013, Paddle shut down its services for merchants due to lack of demand and competition from Square, PayPal Here and Intuit. In 2015, Pitkow left the company to create another fintech startup called Plaid.

(A. Integration of Paddle and Vend

In 2015, Vend acquired Paddle to enhance its cloud-based software. Vend had been using only cash registers to run its business. Therefore, integration of Paddle sputions into Vend was a natural progression for the company in order to extend its services to merchants and support them with other technpogy platforms. The integration of these two technpogies made it easier for merchants to manage their businesses on a single platform. Moreover, the integrated app makes it easier for merchants to accept payments from different channels like cards and Bitcoins. This will help merchants to increase their sales by encouraging cross-channel transactions between customers and retailers.

(B. Benefits of Integration of Paddle and Vend

Improved Customer Experience . Integration of Paddle’s payment sputions into Vend POS will enable Vend’s customers to accept payment through other channels like card, Bitcoin etc., without having to install additional hardware or software. This will also improve the customer experience as they will be able to make payments using their preferred method of payment.

Integration of Paddle’s payment sputions into Vend POS will help Vend’s customers to accept payments from different channels like card, Bitcoin etc., without having to install additional hardware or software. This will also increase sales as merchants will be able to offer payment options to customers that are convenient for the latter.

Integration of Paddle’s payment sputions into Vend POS will allow merchants to receive payments from different channels like card, Bitcoin etc., without having to install additional hardware or software. This will encourage cross channel transactions between customers and retailers. For instance, if a customer pays for his/her purchase using cash but has an option of paying using a card or Bitcoin, he/she might opt for the latter option which may not have been possible without integration of payment sputions into Vend POS.
