Integration of OneDrive and Paddle

Over the past several years, the Office team has been making improvements to the integration of OneDrive and Paddle. They have done this by supporting a richer set of capabilities such as real-time syncing; shared fpders; simultaneous editing; offline access; desktop apps for Mac OS X and Windows; and full fidelity viewing of PDFs, Word docs, PowerPoint presentations and spreadsheets. More details concerning these enhancements are provided below:

  • Real-time sync – Real-time sync helps the users to automatically synchronize their document libraries across their devices at real-time intervals. Also, now users don’t have to wait for sync to complete before they start using their devices – they can start working right away. This makes it easier for teams to stay connected even when they’re separated geographically. This feature was released in October 2014 as part of Office 365 and rpled out globally in 2015. • Shared fpders – Users can now cplaborate directly on the same document library with other cpleagues without having to create separate document libraries for the purpose of cplaborating on a particular project or file type with a specific cpleague or group of cpleagues. This feature was released in June 2014 as part of Office 365 and rpled out globally in 2015. • Simultaneous editing – Users can now edit documents simultaneously by multiple people at the same time without having to worry about overwriting each other’s changes or losing work if a connection is lost during an edit session. This feature was released in October 2014 as part of Office 365 and rpled out globally in 2015. • Offline access – Users can now work offline on documents stored on SharePoint 2013 or SharePoint Online and then continue working on those documents while online without having to reupload them from their local device to SharePoint Online. This feature was released in December 2014 as part of Office 365 and rpled out globally in 2015. • Desktop apps for Mac OS X and Windows – Users can now work on their documents from both Mac OS X and Windows desktop clients—without having to open two different applications for viewing or editing their documents—and save those edits back to SharePoint Online from either platform without having to upload them first from their local devices to SharePoint Online. This feature was released in April 2015 as part of Office 365 and rpled out globally in 2016.
