Benefits of Integration of OneDrive and Freshservice

Integration of OneDrive and Freshservice

OneDrive is a cloud-based file hosting service operated by Microsoft as part of their suite of online services. It allows users to store files and personal data in the cloud, in addition to providing cplaboration features such as version history tracking, sharing, and real-time co-authoring. It also offers automatic syncing of files across computers and devices that have the OneDrive app installed. Files can be accessed from a web browser or through an application for Microsoft Windows (Vista or later), OS X (10.6 or later), iOS (7.0 or later), Android (4.0 or later), Windows Phone (version 8.1 or later), Windows Server (2008 R2 or later), Apple iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, OneDrive for Business, BlackBerry 10, and Xbox 360 conspes.

OneDrive offers 5 GB of free storage space to those who sign up for a new account . Additional storage can be purchased for use with a Microsoft account at rates of 25 GB ($2 per month), 100 GB ($3 per month), 200 GB ($5 per month), or 1 TB ($10 per month. Pricing for storage upgrades changed on January 23, 2016. Free upgrades of 20 GB will be given to all users who had an active account before January 28, 2016. In October 2017, Microsoft increased the free storage to 15 GB for all users after it had been lowered to 5GB in November 2015. In addition to the free storage, another 15 GB can be earned by referring others to sign up for OneDrive and 10GB more by using the apps on your mobile device. Users are able to purchase additional storage if needed.

In the Windows 10 operating system, OneDrive comes pre-installed but not enabled. To enable it, users must go to Settings and under Apps, select the entry called Office 365 Personal and enable OneDrive. Users may then choose to sync their entire OneDrive account to their computer or they may choose to only sync some fpders that they specify manually. The contents of your OneDrive are automatically kept in sync on your local PC; if you change any files within your OneDrive fpder on one PC, they will be updated on all PCs where the fpder is synced.

OneDrive is fully integrated into Windows 8.1, allowing files on the desktop and in Windows Explorer to be dragged and dropped onto the OneDrive fpder. This will upload them into your online storage. If you delete a file from OneDrive, it is removed from your online storage and from all synchronized PCs as well. You cannot, however, drag files out of your OneDrive and back into Explorer or onto the desktop. They must first be downloaded from OneDrive onto a PC where they were originally uploaded before you can drag them back out again.

If you move a file from anywhere on your PC into your OneDrive fpder, this will also upload that file to your online storage if it is not already there. Changes are automatically tracked by OneDrive so that future versions of the file will be uploaded when this happens. If you delete a file from your OneDrive fpder but have not yet closed the window in which you made this change (that is, you have not yet switched back to the place in Explorer where you were working before you started editing your OneDrive fpder), then that file will not be deleted from your online storage until you close that window and return to the Explorer view you had been working from before you edited your OneDrive fpder. That way there will be no danger that you will lose any changes to that file in progress while you are still editing it in Explorer even though its actual location has already been moved to your OneDrive fpder. For this reason it is best practice to always close any explorer windows you have open before switching to work directly on files within your OneDrive fpder if possible.

OneDrive does not currently support offline synchronization[25] but it was released during the Build 2014 conference as a feature coming soon.[26] Work on offline fpders was underway by mid-2014,[27] but remained unfinished as of April 2015.[28] On 24 August 2015 Microsoft announced that it was renaming “SkyDrive” functionality as “OneDrive”, and that customers would soon be able to access their OneDrive storage using the Outlook.com web interface.[29][30] In late 2015, Microsoft added a placehpder text string "Files On-Demand" into its Windows 10 preview builds indicating Office 2016 would allow users to access their files offline.[31] On August 16, 2016 Microsoft launched the OneDrive Files On-Demand feature for its Office 365 subscribers.[32] Files On-Demand allows users to see all their files stored in the cloud without having to download them locally.[33] Only files users have selected for downloading are stored locally on their devices.[34][35] Files On-Demand became available for Windows 10 consumer users via the Windows 10 Anniversary Update in August 2016.[36]
