  • How to write an article on cyberbullying:

Brainstorming is the process of creating ideas. It can be done by yourself or as a team, with a partner or in your group. It is important to let everyone have their say and to incorporate all the ideas when writing the article. This way, the article will be more convincing and interesting.

    Step 1 - Brainstorming

Ask the class to write down the fplowing questions and give them 5 minutes to answer them.

    bullying

    Why do people bully

Are there any reasons why people get bullied

What are some things that people do to others to bully them

What are some signs that someone is being bullied

What can we do to stop bullying

What are some effects of bullying

How does one know if someone is being bullied

How to write an article about a schop trip to Europe

    Step 1 - Brainstorming

Ask the class to write down the fplowing questions and give them 5 minutes to answer them.

What was the trip like? Was there anything you did not like

What were the most memorable moments of your trip

Where did you travel? Where did you stay? What did you see

Step 2 - Creating an outline

Write down all the answers to the questions on index cards or sheets of paper. When you have finished, divide the class into groups, each student in a group should have one answer card. Now take one of these cards from each student and place one card on top of another. The top card is the first part of the article, the bottom card is the ending. There should be somewhere between 5-15 cards in total. Now ask the students to put all their cards together in order and fill in any gaps. This should make one paragraph, which will become the introduction. Ask students to show you their work and then read it out loud as a group. If there is any room for improvement, move on to step 3. If not, proceed to step 4.

Step 3 - Writing the first draft

Now ask students to write down as much as they can remember from all of the cards they wrote down before. They will have around 15 lines, but should write as much as they can, even if it’s not complete sentences. Tell them that they should only try to remember what they said earlier, not rewrite everything. They should now write this down at the top of their page so that they don’t forget what they have already written. They should now finish their sentence and write down as much as they can remember from the rest of their cards. Ask students to read their first draft out loud so that everyone else can listen too and suggest improvements. After everyone has read their first drafts, go through them and correct any mistakes or change words where necessary. Students can now read through their articles and make sure that they are happy with them before moving onto step 4.

Step 4 - Writing the final draft

Students should now read through their articles and make sure that they are happy with them before moving onto step 4. When they are happy, ask them to write it out again and add any pictures, graphs or videos that they would like to include. The final draft should be a copy of their first draft with additions added in order to make it look nicer and more professional. After they have finished, ask students to ask someone else to proofread their article for them (make sure this person is not a friend. and correct any mistakes that they find. Once they have done this, they can hand in their article and move onto something new!
