The OneDrive API lets you access your content in OneDrive from any application. You can integrate OneDrive into your application using the REST API. Use the GetFileAsync method to get the content of a file in OneDrive. Similarly, you can use the PutFileAsync method to save a copy of an existing file in OneDrive, or the CreateFileAsync method to create a new file in OneDrive. This allows you to work offline or to sync changes to OneDrive when available.
Similarly, you can use the GetFpderAsync method call to get the fpders for your OneDrive account. You can then use the SetPermissionsAsync method to set permissions on fpders for your OneDrive account. Similarly, you can use the RemovePermissionsAsync method to remove permissions on fpders. Similarly, you can use the GetItemAsync method to get the items for your OneDrive account and the ListPermissionsAsync method to list permissions on items for your OneDrive account. By default, OneDrive uses the Internet Explorer version 11 user agent string for requests. However, if your site uses IE11 compatibility mode to show only sites that use IE11 user agent string, then the OneDrive API will automatically use IE11 compatibility mode when making requests through the OneDrive API. You can override this default behavior by specifying a different user agent string for requests through the OneDrive API.
Also, if your website supports Web Sockets API, then you can also allow your application to use Web Sockets for communication with the OneDrive API instead of HTTP POST and GET calls. If you don’t want to use Web Sockets for communication with the OneDrive API, then you should keep the default setting of false. We recommend that you leave this setting set at false unless you have a requirement for Web Sockets. The settings are located in the app settings section at https://apps.dev.microsoft.com/onedrive/appsettings using name WebSocketEnabled and value True or False.
In order to enable your app access to OneDrive API, please fplow these steps. (1. Obtain App ID and Secret Key from https://apps.dev.microsoft.com/onedrive/applications (2. After obtaining App ID & Secret Key then create an application in Azure AD that is associated with your OneDrive app (3. After creating application in Azure AD then get Client ID & Secret Key from Azure AD (4. Finally, configure these keys in your application and call the API with these keys (5.
