Integrate OnceHub with Mattermost

OnceHub

OnceHub is a social network for one-time encounters. It consists of three features that make it unique:

• OnceHub is a place to declare yourself available or unavailable.
• OnceHub allows you to connect with people who are in your area, similar to Yelp.
• OnceHub lets you organize one-time encounters based on a person’s availability (for example, coffee with friends.

Mattermost

Mattermost is a private chat app that provides excellent security and privacy, so the users can feel safe while chatting. Here are some of its features:

• Mattermost is secure by default. Without installing extra add-ons, it has secure encrypted messaging between team members. With additional encryption add-ons, it can also secure communication between teams and external users. And without any other add-ons, Mattermost can still encrypt messages from the user's machine to the Mattermost server.
• Mattermost can be highly customized and extended using the API and integrations. For example, the integration with GitHub allows Mattermost to display the activity of repositories and support notifications about issues like pull requests and commits.

Integration of OnceHub and Mattermost

In this part, I will describe how to integrate OnceHub and Mattermost together. First, I will explain how to set up OnceHub and Mattermost on the same server with each other. Then I will talk about how to use Mattermost as an addon on OnceHub’s website.

Part A(i). Set up OnceHub and Mattermost on the Same Server with Each Other

Step 1. Install OnceHub on the server

Step 2. Set up Mattermost on the server as well (by fplowing Mattermost’s documentation)

Step 3. Add a webhook on OnceHub’s admin panel for Mattermost’s URL (http://your-mattermost-server/webhooks/chat_hook. as shown below:

Step 4. Create a channel on Mattermost’s admin panel called “oncehub” and paste OnceHub’s webhook URL into the channel settings as shown below:

Step 5. Copy OnceHub’s webhook URL again and paste it into the admin panel of a user profile page in your database as shown below:
