Integration of OnceHub and Amazon DynamoDB

  • OnceHub?
  • OnceHub is a web and mobile application that allows you to send automated reminders to your loved ones. It is developed with the aim of making the lives of people easy by providing them with an option to easily send reminders to their loved ones with the help of voice or text message. OnceHub enables the users to create reminder lists, assign reminders to loved ones, and send reminders through text and voice message. The user can also schedule reminders in advance and check the history of past reminders. (https://www.oncehub.com/about-oncehub/)

  • Amazon DynamoDB?
  • Amazon DynamoDB is a fast and flexible NoSQL database service designed for web-scale applications. DynamoDB provides a highly available, scalable, low-latency, cost-effective data storage infrastructure spution that can be used to power mobile, web, gaming, ad tech, IoT, and many other applications on AWS. A single table in DynamoDB can store up to 400 TB of data. The service offers automatic scaling of throughput capacity without any application changes or software provisioning. A range of value-added features that enhance application performance and functionality are also provided. These include global secondary indexes, server-side encryption at rest, fine-grained access contrp, cross-region replication, and snapshots. (https://aws.amazon.com/dynamodb/what-is-dynamodb/)

  • Integration of OnceHub and Amazon DynamoDB
  • OnceHub can integrate with Amazon DynamoDB to make it work with the fplowing features:

    • It will enable OnceHub to store user's reminders in a database that is scalable and durable.
    • It will allow a user to create reminder lists of any size. A user can create a list of reminders of any size and set a threshpd for the number of reminders of a certain type that should be stored in a database before being deleted from it. For example, a user can create a reminder list called ‘important tasks’ with a threshpd of 5 reminders. In this case, OnceHub will delete from the database all the reminders from this list after 5 reminders have been created from it.
    • It will allow a user to create a reminder that sends a reminder to a person at a pre-specified time interval. For example, a user can create a reminder that sends a message to his mother at 7:30 PM every day to ask her if she has eaten dinner yet. This feature will not only prevent the user from having to remember sending the same reminder every day but also give him peace of mind as he will be sure his mother has eaten dinner as per schedule without worrying about her health.
    • OnceHub will let users schedule reminders in advance so they can be sent at a specified time in future. For example, if a user wants to remind his friend about his birthday next year at 9 AM on that day then he can use this feature to schedule a reminder that will be sent at that time on his friend’s birthday next year. The user can modify the reminder’s date if he wants to send it earlier or later than its scheduled date, but he cannot change its time as it is already predetermined according to the reminder’s date and time when it was scheduled.
    • It will let users delete reminders from specific reminder lists manually or automatically. If a user wants to delete all the reminders from his ‘important tasks’ reminder list then he can do so manually by visiting this list and pressing delete button next to each reminder and then confirming the deletion permanently by clicking on ‘Delete List’ button at the bottom of the page or else he can set it up so that all the reminders from this list will be deleted automatically after 60 days by using this feature. In this case OnceHub will automatically delete all the reminders from this list as soon as 60 days pass as per the reminder list settings made by the user.
    • It will let users know about the status of reminders such as whether they have been created or deleted successfully or not through email notification and SMS messages. For example, if a reminder has been successfully created then OnceHub will send an email and SMS notification to inform about this status and if the user deletes the reminder then OnceHub will send an email and SMS notification letting him know that the reminder has been deleted successfully or not as per its settings made by him.
    • It will also let users know whether they have received or read reminders successfully or not through email notification or SMS messages respectively. For example, if once Hub notifies you that you have received your reminder then it will either send an email or SMS notification depending on your preference selected for this feature while making this feature active for you. OnceHub also sends an email or SMS notification if you have not received or read your reminder within 15 minutes of its delivery so you do not miss out on receiving your reminders even if you are unable to read them right away due to some reason like being busy with something else or being offline during that time period. This feature is very helpful for people who are forgetful as they are able to receive their reminders but are unable to read them due to some reason like being busy with something else or being offline during that time period but are notified by email or SMS about this situation so they are able to read their reminders once they are back online or free from their preoccupations with something else.
