Office 365 is an office suite of applications hosted on the cloud. The system is very similar to other traditional office suites such as Google Docs and LibreOffice. When a user signs up for an Office 365 account, they are given access to all of the major products in the office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Outlook, Publisher, and Access. In addition to the major applications, users also have access to additional features such as Skype for Business, SharePoint Online, and Yammer. The suite of applications is created by Microsoft and can be used on any computer or mobile device with internet access.The system was launched in 2011 by Microsoft to replace their previous cloud based office spution named Office Live Workspace. With this launch Microsoft hoped to compete with Google Docs. Unlike Google Docs, which is free for consumers to use, Office 365 must be paid for. While the basic version of Office 365 is free for consumers, there are different plans available for businesses. Such plans include Small Business Online Express, Midsize Business Online, Enterprise E1, E3, and E5.
