Odoo CRM is a free open source (GPLv3. Customer Relationship Management application that comes with a lot of features. Twitter is a micro blogging website which allows its users to post 140 character updates known as tweets. Twitter was launched on 21st March 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams and Biz Stone. Twitter was created as a way of staying in touch with friends and family using text messaging without having to pay for sending short messages. Twitter has become one of the most widely used social media platforms in the world due to its ease of use and very short limitation of characters for each tweet. This makes Twitter a powerful top for businesses, celebrities and ppiticians because they can reach out to millions of people instantly.

Integration of Odoo CRM and Twitter allows users to access both systems seamlessly. This integration provides four main features:

  • Importing Contacts – Users can now import their contact details from Twitter to Odoo CRM
  • Exporting Contacts – Users can export their contacts from Odoo CRM to Twitter

The first step in configuring the integration is creating an application in Twitter called "Odoo" by navigating to https://dev.twitter.com/appsew . After this you will need to create an application on Odoo in order to integrate the two applications together by navigating to Settings -> Applications -> Create an application (see Figure 1.

Interface for creating an application in Odoo CRMAfter you have filled out all the information required, press create button and repeat this step for each platform that you would like to integrate with Odoo CRM like Google+, Facebook and so on...After completing these steps you will need to add your Facebook fan page URL, Google+ page URL, LinkedIn Company URL etc...in the settings of the applications that you have just created. This step is important because it helps Odoo CRM identify which account belongs to which platform so that it can send updates only to those platforms with relevant content (see Figure 3.
