Integration of Netlify and Google Groups

Netlify

Netlify is a platform for hosting websites. It allows developers to create and deploy their own websites and apps with ease. Similar to GitHub, it allows up to 1-click deployment of code from the developer’s computer to Netlify server. Netlify analyzes the code when it’s deployed and offers features such as continuous deployment and static site hosting.

Google Groups

Google Groups is a discussion board hosted by Google. It provides a place for members to discuss various topics in real time. In addition, users can also subscribe to receive email updates on new posts or join a video chat to discuss topics in real time.

Integration of Netlify and Google Groups

Google Groups has a variety of benefits compared to other boards. One of its biggest advantages is that it allows users to post URLs of published content. The fplowing Google Group thread shows how this feature has been used several times in the past (See Figure 1. It is better than something like Disqus because it only requires one click from the user instead of filling out a form field in order to post a link. Moreover, members are required to register with their real names for Google Groups to work properly, whereas users can sign up for Disqus with fake names.

Another benefit is that it allows video chats to be performed directly on the platform. In fact, some threads in the fplowing screenshot contain video links in order to allow users to see each other while they are talking (See Figure 2. This is a huge advantage over other platforms such as Facebook or Twitter because Google Groups does not require an app installation or anything else. Therefore, it eliminates the barrier of installing an app in order to use this service because it works just like any other web page.

Finally, the platform allows direct integration of 3rd party services through third party APIs (See Figure 3. Users can directly post links on their social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram via the Google Groups platform itself (See Figure 4 & 5. This feature also makes it easier for users who do not have Google accounts because they can simply log in with their social network accounts (for example, Facebook. and then post a link without having to go through a separate login process.
