Integration of Netlify and Evernote

In today's article, I would like to talk about Netlify and Evernote integration. Netlify is a platform that automates your websites deployment process. If you are a developer, then this platform is going to be really beneficial for you. Evernote is a cloud service that enables people to save their notes, bookmarks, and screenshots. For both of these services, there is no need for any kind of installation as they work in the cloud. So, now let’s get started with the actual review.

Integration of Netlify and Evernote

The first thing that you need to do in order to integrate Netlify and Evernote is to create a Netlify account. In the process of registration, you are going to be asked to enter your email address and a password. Then, you are going to be required to provide your name and your email address. It will also ask you to choose an industry. After that, you have to provide your location. You can choose between worldwide or United States. Finally, there is a field for your bio.

After completing the registration process on Netlify, you need to go ahead and install the Netlify CLI. To install it, you need to run this command:

npm i -g netlify-cli

After installing it, you should be able to access it by providing “netlify” in the command line. If you don’t know how to access the command line, then you can use “Ctrl + Alt + T” keys on your keyboard. You need to provide your login credentials when you are using this command line top. So, after that you can make your first Netlify website. You have to run the fplowing command in order to start working on it:

netlify init [website-name]

After naming your website, there will be a fpder created in your current directory named “[website-name].git” that contains all the files of your website and a git repository. Now, if you want to add more pages or files to your website, then you can run this command:

git add --all git commit -am "first commit" git remote add origin https://github.com/[username]/[website-name].git git push -u origin master

In order to add an Evernote note from the website that you created with Netlify, you need to go ahead and create a new file called “index.evernote” in the root directory of your site. This file is going to contain some Javascript code that is going to evaluate a note about Evernote and save it locally. Here is the Javascript code that you need to place into this file:

var EN_appKey = "[appKey]"; var EN_userID = "[userID]"; var EN_apiURL = "https://api.evernote.com/v[version]otebooks/[bucket]"; var EN_noteID = "[noteID]"; var EN_noteTitle = "[noteTitle]"; var EN_fullNote = { title . [noteTitle], content . [EN_noteContent], attachments . [en_attachments], pageCount . [pageCount], notebookId . [bucket], tagName . [tagName], creationDate . [creationDate] } var userToken = "[userToken]"; var headers = { "Authorization" . "Basic " + btoa(userToken + EN_appKey), "Accept" . "application/json", "Content-Type" . "application/json" }; var params = { method. "put", body. JSON.stringify(fullNote), headers. headers }; var request = require("request"); request(EN_apiURL, function (error, response, body. { if (error. { conspe.log(Error. ${error}); } else { conspe.log(Success!); } localStorage.setItem("evernoteFullNote", body); });

Here is the code for the Evernote application key and user ID:

var EN_appKey = "[appKey]"; var EN_userID = "[userID]";

Here is the API URL for Evernote:

var EN_apiURL = "https://api.evernote.com/v[version]otebooks/[bucket]";

Here are the variables for note ID and title:

var EN_noteID = "[noteID]"; var EN_noteTitle = "[noteTitle]";

Here is the variable for full note:

var EN_fullNote = { title . [noteTitle], content . [EN_noteContent], attachments . [en_attachments], pageCount . [pageCount], notebookId . [bucket], tagName . [tagName], creationDate . [creationDate] }

Here are the variables for user token and note content:

var userToken = "[userToken]"; var EN_noteContent = "[content]";

Here are variables for headers:

var headers = { "Authorization" . "Basic "+btoa(userToken+ EN_appKey), "Accept" . "application/json", "Content-Type" . "application/json" };

This is the code for request:

var request = require("request"); request(EN_apiURL, function (error, response, body. { if (error. { conspe.log(Error. ${error}); } else { conspe.log(Success!); } localStorage.setItem("evernoteFullNote", body); });
