Netlify is a cloud-based web-deployment service that allows you to build, host, and maintain your websites without any infrastructure. It offers you with the ability to host your website on the cloud and enables you to create them using various languages. Since the launch of its service in 2012, it has grown to include more than 200,000 users who use its platform to build and publish their websites.
It was founded by Jorn von Stein and Mathias Biilmann in 2012. Both of them were previously working with Meteor Development Group and had built their own Meteor hosting service called Aerobatic. They later decided to build for a wider audience and looked for a way that would allow their users to deploy any kind of site on their own. That was how the idea of Netlify came into being.
AerisWeather is a weather app that displays real-time weather data provided by NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. It was launched in August 2012 by the founder, Evan Korthof. AerisWeather is available for both iOS and Android platforms. It is also available on Amazon Appstore for Android devices. This app provides you with the ability to forecast for the next 12 hours for all 50 states in the United States of America as well as a few other countries including Canada, Mexico, China, Indonesia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Philippines, Australia, etc. You can also view current conditions as well as several days back weather forecasts.
AerisWeather provides its users with access to hyperlocal weather forecasts for free. However, the data provided by it requires a subscription to become accessible. If you need to get this data for a commercial project or for your personal project, you need to subscribe to its paid services. Netlify’s integration with AerisWeather enables you to get access to the weather data even if you are not subscribed to its paid services. The integration enables you to display real-time weather data on your project’s site. The only requirement is that you have an AerisWeather account and a Netlify account. Once you have both these accounts, you can integrate these two services by fplowing the steps given below:
Go to the Netlify dashboard and click on “Settings” tab. Click on “Services” and then click on “Add Service” option. On the popup window that appears, type AerisWeather in the search field and select it from the list of services displayed. Click on “Connect” button to connect your Netlify account with your AerisWeather account. Once your accounts are connected, Netlify will automatically grab all your published sites, add custom domains to all of them, and start serving them. Now that your site has been integrated with AerisWeather, simply go to AerisWeather page in Netlify dashboard and configure it as per your specifications.
The integration of these two services allows you to:
