In this section, I will discuss about Integration of MySQL and MongoDB. I will define the integration of MySQL and MongoDB by different definitions and I will also discuss the pros and cons of integration of MySQL and MongoDB.

  • Definition 1:

Integration of MySQL and MongoDB can be defined as a combination of MySQL and MongoDB that are combined to work together as one single entity. In this approach, MySQL database acts as a relational database while MongoDB acts as NoSQL based document database. It means that MongoDB stores all the data in documents format whereas MySQL stores the data in relational format. This integrated environment allows you to include both RDBMS features like relational databases along with NoSQL features like document databases in your application.

  • Definition 2:

Integration of MySQL and MongoDB can be defined as the process where MySQL database is used as an RDBMS while MongoDB is used as NoSQL database. In this approach, all the data is stored in MySQL database while metadata is stored in MongoDB database. This approach gives you best of both worlds because you can store vast amounts of data in MySQL database while still getting the benefit from the ease of managing the metadata using MongoDB database.

As long as you have one layer of security in place, it will protect all of your data without any additional effort required on your part. As long as you have good security measures in place, you will have peace of mind knowing that your data is protected from malicious attacks launched at any time from anyone who has access to the internet.
  • Easy to Use. This method also makes it easy to use since there is no need for complicated setup procedures or extensive training required for the end users who need to access your company’s data on a regular basis. For example, if you add new data fields in MySQL then those fields won’t automatically appear in your document cplections created using MongoDB unless you decide to modify those cplections manually by adding those new fields first yourself before allowing MongoDB to index the new document cplections for searches conducted against them later on down the road. Additionally, if you want to add new fields directly into your document cplections without modifying their schema first then it may not be possible because the schemas created by MongoDB may not allow those fields to exist within those document cplections or they may not even be indexed by MongoDB during searches conducted against them later on down the road. There are also some limitations that apply when running large scale deployments where the need to scale up quickly may be needed in order to cope with greater numbers of requests made in peak times. With this approach, it may not be possible to scale up quickly without recoding or otherwise changing existing code thereby creating other issues that arise later on down the road which could require additional efforts on your part along with other issues caused by other unknown problems that may arise down the road later on in the future due to this method being used over using them separately.
