Integration of MySQL and Daylite

MySQL

MySQL is an open-source relational database management system. It is a very popular database, used by many web sites including Facebook, Yahoo! and Wikipedia.

MySQL was originally developed by MySQL AB, which was acquired by Sun Microsystems in 2008. Sun was in turn acquired by Oracle Corporation in 2009.

MySQL is available for free under the terms of the GNU General Public License.

Daylite

Daylite is a full featured application, designed to provide a complete workflow for time management, contact management, task management, project management, email, calendar and notes. It can be accessed from anywhere via the internet.

Daylite is available for both Windows and Mac operating systems. It can also be accessed from any web browser without requiring installation or an account on the computer.

Integration of MySQL and Daylite

We are going to integrate MySQL with Daylite to manage our customer database. Our database will contain information about our customers, their jobs, our staff and their jobs. We will have one table for each of the above entities. These tables are shown below:

Table Name Description CUSTOMER_DB Contains customer information. CUSTOMER_JOB_DB Contains job information. STAFF_DB Contains staff information. STAFF_TASK_DB Contains task information. STAFF_TIME_DB Contains staff time information.

We are going to import all customer data from our existing database into MySQL using phpMyAdmin. From there we will have an interface to create new jobs, tasks and contacts. We will then use our interface to create new records in the Staff Time and Staff Task tables when they start working on jobs. Then when they finish jobs we will update in the Staff Time and Staff Task tables in Daylite. We will also update in Daylite when they create new tasks or contacts for jobs. This way we can monitor all of our jobs in Daylite at one place. It will give us the flexibility to view any record related to any job at any time providing more information than before when we were limited to looking at individual databases for each job. We will also make changes to any of the data that needs changing in our original database.

The process to integrate MySQL and Daylite may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
