Integration of MongoDB Realm and moonclerk

MongoDB Realm is a database management system for mobile systems. It is created by MongoDB Inc. and is available for Java, Objective-C, Swift, React Native, Xamarin, Android, iOS, and web.

moonclerk is a free, open source Redis client for iOS, macOS and tvOS. It is created by MoonClerk Inc. and is available for Swift and Objective-C, tvOS.

Integration of MongoDB Realm and moonclerk

In the fplowing examples, we will integrate MongoDB Realm with moonclerk.

Creating a Database

In this example, we will create a new database called “test”. In the example, we will use “test” as a database name. In your project’s AppDelegate.swift file add the fplowing code in order to create a new database:

In the example, we created a database called “test” and then we tried to create a new database using the fplowing line. mongoUrl = NSURL (string. "mongodb://localhost:27017/test". . If there is no error we will get a database called “test”. Then we tried to connect to the database using mongo = try! MongoClient.connect(mongoUrl. . If there is no error we get a database connection. Then we closed the database connection using mongo.close(. . We did not need to use try! because that is an asynchronous operation which has return type of Void . Hence we do not need try! . Finally we checked whether there was any error while closing the database using if mongo == nil and if mongo == nil { fatalError("Unable to close MongoDB connection". } , and if there was no error we printed “MongoDB connection created successfully!”.

Inserting Data into the Database

In this example, we will insert data into the database called “test”. In the example, we will use “test” as a database name. In your project’s AppDelegate.swift file add the fplowing code in order to insert data into the database called “test”:
