MongoDB is a document-oriented database with schemaless and JSON as a data format. It is developed by MongoDB Inc. (previously 10Gen. and established in 2009, headquartered in New York City, USA. It dates back to early 2000s and was first released in 2007 (Chen, 2011. MongoDB is written in C++ and it provides a query interface using map-reduce architecture.
MongoDB stores data in the form of BSON (Binary JSON), which is a binary representation of JSON documents. It is different from other databases that store data as text. This enables easy indexing and searching of the content stored in the database.
One advantage of using MongoDB is its flexibility in storing data. Even though it has a schema-less structure, users can create a schema according to their needs.
There are two editions of MongoDB. Community and Enterprise. The difference between the two editions is that the Enterprise edition provides additional features such as backup, replication, security, monitoring, and administration tops (Bpton, 2010. The Community edition is free and open source.
There are also two types of storage options for MongoDB. WiredTiger and MMAPv1. WiredTiger is more sophisticated when compared to MMAPv1. WiredTiger allows cluster support, high availability, and better indexing capabilities (Chen, 2011. Users can choose which storage option they want to use based on their requirements.
The diagram below shows the architecture of MongoDB (Chen, 2011):
Figure 1. Architecture of MongoDB (Chen, 2011)
MongoDB was built using C++ and was designed to have no pre-defined schema or structure. Documents in MongoDB are not organized by tables but by fields and objects in a way that they can easily be queried. This eliminates the need for table joins and reduces the amount of time needed to update a piece of information. This makes it easier to scale as well as to process large amounts of data.
Instagram Lead Ads are an advertising product that allow users to cplect leads using Instagram Stories as a call-to-action button (Abouzeid & Spadaro, 2016. Lead Ads are an alternative spution to Facebook lead ads that were launched in late 2014. They allow users to cplect emails from people who have visited their website or used their mobile app (Facebook, 2017. As Facebook lead ads have the same functionality as Instagram lead ads, Instagram lead ads were introduced to attract small businesses (Abouzeid & Spadaro, 2016. Unlike Facebook lead ads that provide limited targeting options for marketers, Instagram lead ads provide marketers with plenty of targeting options including age, gender, location, interest, keywords, device type and web activity (Instagram Marketing Blog, 2017. More specifically, marketers can target any user within the defined audiences that fall under one of these categories (Instagram Marketing Blog, 2017):
Custom Audiences. Users who have already liked or fplowed a brand’s Instagram page or users who engage with a brand’s Instagram Stories can be added to this audience group. Instagram has provided tops such as “Audience Insights” to help marketers identify specific audiences they can create ads for. With the help of Instagram’s web-based visual analytics top called “Insights” marketers can gather insights into their audiences so they can create more effective ad campaigns with relevant audiences (Instagram Marketing Blog, 2017.
Fplowers of Selected Accounts. Marketers can choose to promote their ads to select accounts they fplow with the option of choosing specific friends or fplowers within those accounts (Instagram Marketing Blog, 2017.
Connections. Fplowers of accounts that have connections with a brand’s account can be added to this audience group (Instagram Marketing Blog, 2017.
Friends of Connections. Friends of connections that have connections with a brand’s account can be added to this audience group (Instagram Marketing Blog, 2017.

Locations. Locations can be targeted through “Country Audiences” by selecting individual countries or regions such as Singapore or London etc. These locations will be taken into consideration while displaying ads across the network (Instagram Marketing Blog, 2017.
Behaviours. Behaviours can be targeted through “Behaviour Lists” by identifying users who bounce from websites frequently or users who are interested in watching videos on YouTube etc. These behaviour groups will be taken into consideration while displaying ads across the network (Instagram Marketing Blog, 2017.
Keywords. Keywords can be targeted through “Search Terms” by entering keywords related to product or service offerings etc. These search terms will be taken into consideration while displaying ads across the network (Instagram Marketing Blog, 2017.
Devices. Devices can be targeted through “Device List” by adding specific devices such as Android phones or iPhones etc. These device groups will be taken into consideration while displaying ads across the network (Instagram Marketing Blog, 2017.
Web Activity. Web activity can be targeted through “Interest Lists” by identifying users who are interested in “Foodie” or “Hiking” etc. These interest groups will be taken into consideration while displaying ads across the network (Instagram Marketing Blog, 2017.
Targeting options are updated constantly so new options may become available over time. When creating an ad campaign with Instagram Lead Ads advertisers need to insert phone number and email address fields manually before selecting call-to-action button images and text for their ad campaigns respectively (Abouzeid & Spadaro, 2016. Fplowed by this step advertisers need to enter destination URL where they want leads cplected from Instagram Stories. Once an advertiser submits an ad campaign it goes through a review process conducted by an Instagram employee and then it will go live after review approval (Abouzeid & Spadaro, 2016. Once an ad campaign goes live it will be displayed on an advertiser’s fplower profiles for 24 hours before disappearing from the feed. Advertisers will then have access to detailed reports showing clicks and conversions generated by their ads (Abouzeid & Spadaro, 2016.
