The first and foremost thing that comes to mind when we talk about CRM (Customer Relationship Management. is the usual suspects. Salesforce.com, Zoho CRM, SugarCRM etc. The CRM landscape has been dominated by the big names for a long time now and it has been quite hard to find an alternative outside of the big guns. That is until now.

The journey to discover this little gem started with a simple tweet from Mautic’s twitter account:

After doing some research I decided to give it a try and purchased a trial license for myself. It was not an easy decision because if I failed and was stuck with a non-working system then I may have to wait another year or so to try again.

But risk and reward is the name of the game and I took my chances. I purchased a standard package which came with 1 user and 1 site license as well as access to all features including custom reports as well as support from their forums. In hindsight I should have purchased at least the Pro package which includes unlimited users as well as sites because once I started using it, I fell in love immediately.

In order to be able to use it effectively, I had to do a lot of customization which gave me a chance to understand the architecture of the system as well as how to create custom modules for it later on. After a few weeks of using it, I realized that it would be a good idea to write a post about this amazing system and share it with the community.

I will try my best to highlight the features that make it so attractive for both small and large scale users. In addition I will also go over why I believe Mautic is the future of CRM systems. Finally I will also talk about how Mautic can be integrated with monday.com.

The first thing that caught my attention was the integration between monday.com and Mautic. This made Mautic a very interesting choice since I was already using monday.com for other services such as email marketing, landing page creation etc. So imagine having all of these features in one system! It was simply amazing!

Benefits of Integration of monday.com and Mautic

So here are some benefits that can be derived from integrating monday.com and Mautic together:

Integrated Email Marketing with website leads

Leads imported directly into monday.com automatically get tagged with information from Mautic such as source, campaign etc. This makes it very easy to analyze leads according to their source or campaign for targeted campaigns.

Leads imported into monday.com can also be exported directly into Mautic via CSV file in case they want to do further analysis on the leads there in addition to analyzing them in monday.com.

This is great for analyzing leads that did not convert on your website but still performed some action on your website such as registering or signing up for an account etc. You can import these leads into monday.com so you know who is still interested in your services without having to manually enter them into Mautic. Then at any time you can easily export them into Mautic for further analysis on specific fields that you need for further targeting of your marketing campaigns or just for your own records. You can also create automated workflows that allow you to automatically publish new leads into your CRM system after performing some actions on your website such as registering for an account, signing up for an e-mail list etc. You can export leads without any information regarding their actions on your website since they only exist in Mautic at this point in time. But you can use something like Zapier’s ‘event trigger’ feature to set certain conditions under which events occur automatically in monday.com or any other application for that matter (such as sending an e-mail, adding an entry into Google Calendar etc.. We will talk more about Zapier later on in this post when we discuss automating tasks between applications using Zapier integration with monday.com and Mautic. Automated Marketing Campaigns across multiple channels Posting marketing campaigns directly from your website allows you to automate posting across several channels such as Facebook, Linkedin etc., even if you have separate accounts for each channel or a single account which allows you access to multiple channels but restricts posting from the same account simultaneously at one time due to API limitations. For example, if you have professional Facebook business page and personal Facebook account, you will not be able to post through the API from both accounts simultaneously so you will have to post from one account manually while someone else posts from another account manually, resulting in a lot of wasted time and effort depending upon how much content you post per day/week/month etc., this way instead of one person doing all of the posting manually, two people can do it automatically by sharing access to their respective accounts with each other in order to do their posting in a seamless manner. Another benefit is that if you have a personal profile that is public, you could easily gain recognition from your peers online if the content shared from your personal profile is from your official corporate page/account etc., especially if it contains content relevant to their interests etc., this makes it easy for them to recognize you as an expert or authority figure in your field which can result in organic traffic/leads coming into your website without any cost or effort which is priceless!
