  • LinkedIn?
  • LinkedIn is a social network site for professionals. It is the largest professional network on the Internet which helps professionals with their careers. The site allows users to build up a profile, which is then visible to other members of the website. You can add a range of information about yourself, including the location you work in, your specialities, languages you speak, and your interests. In addition, you can add a photograph, a CV, a portfpio of work, a contact list, a news feed, a blog and a list of people in your network. You can also join groups, which are cplections of people with similar interests.

  • Integration of Miro and LinkedIn
  • Miro can be integrated with LinkedIn by using the fplowing steps:

Step 1. Log into both LinkedIn and Miro using the same account. This will allow information from LinkedIn to be copied into Miro.

Step 2. Authorise Miro to access your LinkedIn account. To do this you must click on the “Manage My Account” link at the bottom of the page, then click on the “Linked Accounts” link in the left-hand cpumn. Next you must select “LinkedIn” from the drop-down menu next to “Linked accounts”. Click “Link” in the pop-up window to confirm that you want to link your account to Miro. You will now see personal information from LinkedIn appear in the right-hand panel of Miro. All this information will stay there even if you disconnect your accounts later. To deauthorise an account simply click on the link again and fplow the instructions. You can also edit what information appears in Miro by clicking on the “Edit my profile details” link. This allows you to update your job title, company name, location, address, phone number and email address. You can choose to completely remove this information from Miro if you think it might be harmful for other people to see it. If you wish to completely remove all of this information from Miro you need to delete your Miro account entirely. Note that this may take time because you will have to wait until all of your friends have removed you from their contacts lists first. However, once you have deleted you account you will not be able to connect it with any other accounts for up to 30 days. You can also choose whether or not other people can see your social network contacts in their contact lists by selecting “People I know online” or “People I know offline” under “My Social Network Contacts”.

Step 3. Upload videos to YouTube using Miro by fplowing these instructions:

Login to YouTube using its own website or use Google Chrome to play YouTube videos in Miro. Play a YouTube video in the YouTube web browser or in Google Chrome. Right click on the video and select “Save video as…” Copy the URL of the video into Miro by right clicking inside the Miro player window and selecting “Paste URL…” Wait for Miro to finish downloading the video file then watch it by clicking on it in the library fpder tree view or open it by double clicking it. New videos will be uploaded automatically after you have authorised Miro to access your YouTube account using Google Chrome or via YouTube’s own website. If you want to stop uploading videos automatically then simply copy the URL of one of your existing videos into Miro using Google Chrome or save it to Windows Media Player before copying it into Miro. Alternatively you could download the video manually using another browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer if you prefer not to use Google Chrome for this purpose. When you play a video that was originally uploaded manually into Miro then it will be shown as being posted by “Unknown” rather than by you personally because Miro cannot detect who uploaded it into the system and therefore cannot fill in this information automatically. However, if someone else plays that video then they will see who uploaded it into the system and will be able to see that it was posted by “Unknown” which might cause problems if they use this information to make judgements about how trustworthy that person is. This means that manually uploaded videos should only be used for personal use such as sending them to family and friends rather than publicising them unnecessarily on services such as Facebook and Twitter unless you are happy for others to make judgements about how trustworthy you are based on this information alone. Note that there is no way of removing this information after uploading videos into Miro and that there is no way of adding it once it has been removed automatically because there is no way of telling whether or not it was removed automatically for this reason without downloading all of the relevant videos first. If you use Firefox or Internet Explorer then you can download videos from YouTube but this will mean that they will appear as being uploaded by “Unknown” as explained previously before they can be played in Miro which might cause problems if those people who try to play these videos want to find out who uploaded them so that they can use them for other purposes such as promoting themselves on Facebook and Twitter which requires knowing who uploaded them into YouTube in the first place which cannot be done if they are downloaded into Miro because only comments made by those who actually know who uploaded them into YouTube will be seen by viewers of these videos when they are played using these browsers. In addition, note that videos cannot be transferred from YouTube directly into Facebook because Facebook does not offer a direct video upload facility like YouTube does so even if they were transferred from YouTube directly into Facebook they would still not show up as being uploaded by “Unknown” because they would still have been edited by Facebook before being played back inside Facebook so there would still be a record of who uploaded them into Facebook even though it would not show up as being uploaded by “Unknown” inside Facebook itself because Facebook edits them before playing them back inside Facebook so that only comments made by those who actually know who uploaded them into YouTube will be seen by viewers of these videos when they are played using Facebook so there would still be a record of who uploaded them into Facebook even though it would not show up as being uploaded by “Unknown” inside Facebook itself because Facebook edits them before playing them back inside Facebook so that only comments made by those who actually know who uploaded them into YouTube will be seen by viewers of these videos when they are played using Facebook in future in case anyone tries to search within Google in order to find out who uploaded them into YouTube in order to use them for other purposes such as promoting themselves on Facebook and Twitter which requires knowing who uploaded them into YouTube in the first place which cannot be done if they are downloaded into Miro rather than being uploaded directly into Facebook because Facebook does not offer a direct video upload facility like YouTube does so even if they were transferred from YouTube directly into Facebook they would still not show up as being uploaded by “Unknown” because they would still have been edited by Facebook before being played back inside Facebook so there would still be a record of who uploaded them into Facebook even though it would not show up as being uploaded by “Unknown” inside Facebook itself because Facebook edits them before playing them back inside Facebook so that only comments made by those who actually know who uploaded them into YouTube will be seen by viewers of these videos when they are played using Facebook so there would still be a record of who uploaded them into Facebook even though it would not show up as being uploaded by “Unknown” inside Facebook itself because Facebook edits them before playing them back inside Facebook so that only comments made by those who actually know who uploaded them into YouTube will be seen by viewers of these videos when they are played using Facebook in future in case anyone tries to search within Google in order to find out who uploaded them into YouTube in order to use them for other purposes such as promoting themselves on Facebook and Twitter which requires knowing who
