Miro is a free, open source internet television application built on top of the Mozilla Application framework. It allows users to watch and record streaming video from around the world. Miro is cross-platform, with versions for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. It also supports video from a variety of online sources including YouTube, Google Video, MySpace, Dailymotion, TED Talks, CNN, PBS and major news organizations. A wide selection of podcasts can also be viewed with Miro.
Miro was developed by the not-for-profit organization Miro (then known as Democracy Player. The first version was released in November 2004 under the name Democracy Player 1.0. Fplowing its reorganization and change of name to Miro in 2006, the team rewrote the application from scratch in 2007. Version 1.0 of the new Miro was released on June 12, 2008. On October 7, 2008, version 1.1 was released featuring numerous interface changes as well as support for viewing any video through the Google Video Search API. In 2009 Miro 2 was released. This featured a completely new UI and many additional features such as podcast and live TV support.

Miro can integrate with an Airtable base using the “Connections” feature. If a base was created in Miro’s context menu (right click), then this option will appear on the menu when an Airtable base is open in Miro. If it was not created using Miro then it will appear when an Airtable base is imported into Miro using the “Import Data” feature from the “File” menu in Miro.
When connecting to a base in Airtable within Miro, the fplowing options will appear within its context menu:
Send to. Sends your show notes to your base in Airtable as an activity where you can edit them before they’re sent back to Miro. This feature requires that the setting “Allow External Apps to Send Activity” be enabled in Miro’s settings page under “Advanced” tab. Once enabled, this setting can be changed or disabled at any time in Miro’s settings page under “Advanced” tab.
Sends your show notes to your base in Airtable as an activity where you can edit them before they’re sent back to Miro. This feature requires that the setting “Allow External Apps to Send Activity” be enabled in Miro’s settings page under “Advanced” tab. Once enabled, this setting can be changed or disabled at any time in Miro’s settings page under “Advanced” tab. Perform. Performs the action specified by the title you enter in the text box which appears after clicking this menu item. There are two actions available. Perform Now and Perform Later. Perform Now will immediately perform the action when you click it while Perform Later will add it as an activity to your list of activities which can be found in Miro’s Calendar view under “All Activities” tab. This feature requires that the setting “Allow External Apps to Perform Actions” be enabled in Miro’s settings page under “Advanced” tab. Once enabled, this setting can be changed or disabled at any time in Miro’s settings page under “Advanced” tab.

This feature requires that the setting “Allow External Apps to Add Tasks” be enabled in Miro’s settings page under “Advanced” tab. Once enabled, this setting can be changed or disabled at any time in Miro’s settings page under “Advanced” tab.
