Microsoft To-Do is an easy to use and multilingual personal task management app available on Android, iOS, Windows, and the web. It allows you to create tasks and set due dates, and organize them into lists. You can add reminders to your tasks, which will cause them to pop up on the screen at the appropriate time. You can also set recurring tasks. Tasks and lists can be shared with other Microsoft To-Do users.
WordPress is a free and open source content management system (CMS. It is used by over 30% of the top 10 million websites globally. WordPress is written in PHP server-side scripting language and it makes use of a MySQL database to store content. WordPress is also very popular for building blogs and websites. There are many WordPress plugins that make it possible to do things like add a contact form or newsletter signup form.
It is possible to sync your tasks from Microsoft To-Do to WordPress, allowing you to keep track of tasks in both apps. I will demonstrate how this integration works. I will access Microsoft To-Do on my iPhone and create four tasks. Later, I will view these same tasks in my WordPress Dashboard.
First, I will create a new task in Microsoft To-Do on my iPhone. I select “Add a task” and type in “Finished ‘The Great Gatsby’ today!” as the name of the task. I will have the task repeat once a day for five days starting tomorrow. This means that my task will appear at the top of my list every day for the next five days and then disappear. I select “Add a reminder”, choose a time (7:30pm), and choose “Repeat every day for 5 days” so that it appears on the schedule for each day. My task is complete and now appears on the dashboard of Microsoft To-Do:
I will now view my task from Microsoft To-Do in WordPress. In WordPress, go to “tasks” page by clicking “Tasks” under the “Posts” menu. Then click “Pending” on the left side of the page to view all the pending tasks:
You will see there are my four tasks created earlier in Microsoft To-Do listed here, along with their due dates and times:
