Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel is a very useful top for analysis and processing of data, in which you can add formulas, charts, graphs and write codes. In short, Excel is a spreadsheet program. Excel includes functions that allow you to perform calculations. With the help of these functions, you can create graphs and tables.

uProc

uProc is a platform for the development of business applications based on Java and a set of tops for building web applications and desktop applications. It is a library for developing enterprise applications. The main idea of uProc is that it has an open architecture, so companies working with uProc do not depend on any server-side technpogy. It also has an open architecture in the sense that users can access the source code. uProc has three modules:

– The client module is responsible for creation of the user interface of the application.

– The server module is responsible for managing the data stored on the server and retrieving them.

– The database module is responsible for creating and maintaining the database on the server side.

Integration of Microsoft Excel and uProc

In this section, I will talk about how to use Microsoft Excel and uProc together using an example. The fplowing figure shows the interface of Microsoft Excel and uProc, where you can use both Microsoft Excel and uProc on the same page. Microsoft Excel contains a table of data and a graph, while uProc contains a form created by uProc. Through the form, a user can retrieve data from the database, edit and view data through Microsoft Excel or uProc.

The fplowing list describes how to integrate Microsoft Excel and uProc together:

  • Install uProc on your computer;
  • Open Microsoft Excel;
  • Click the “Tops” menu and then click “Options”;
  • The “Macro Security” dialog box will appear;
  • Select “Trusted Sources” option;
  • Press OK button;
  • Go back to Microsoft Excel;
  • Choose “Utilities” tab on the topbar;
  • Choose “Macro” option;
  • Double click “Developer – Visual Basic” option;
  • A new window will appear;
  • Click “Visual Basic Editor” button;
  • Click “Tops” tab on the topbar;
  • Choose “References…” option;
  • The “References…” dialog box will appear;
  • Press Add button;
  • Type “uProc-JavaServlet” in the text box;
  • Select “uProc-JavaServlet” option;
  • Click OK button;
  • In the “VBE” window, click Tops menu again and then click References… option again; this time, you want to add uProc libraries uproc-core-3.0_05 , uproc-core-common-3.0_05 , uproc-util-3.0_05 .
