First, clone or download a sample dashboard; it can be found here. After that, open it using PowerBI Desktop, then click File -> Import and select “Blank Dashboard” template in the list of options. After that, you have to create a connection between your Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central account and Mixpanel. To do that, you have to go to https://mixpanel.com and sign up for an account there if you don’t already have one. Then go to the “Settings” tab and click “Connections” option at the top. In the “Connections” area, click “New Connection” button at the bottom.

In the pop-up window, enter your Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central credentials, then click “Save” button at the bottom. Then you have to choose whether you want to use an existing Mixpanel project or create a new one for integration with your Business Central account. If you choose an existing project, you will need to enter its name in the “Project Name” field. If you choose to create a new project, you can give it a name in the “New Project Name” field and add tags in the “Tags” field. After that, just hit “Create Project” button at the bottom of the pop-up window.

In case you want to connect with a new project, you have to give its name in the “New Project Name” field; otherwise leave it as it is. Also enter Mixpanel API Key in the “API Key” field; you will get it when you register on Mixpanel website. After that, just hit “Connect” button at the bottom of the pop-up window. You can see a list of all your Mixpanel projects on the “Connections” page. They will be selected by default, so just click the green arrow at the bottom to confirm your selection. After that, you have to choose what data will be sent from your Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central account to your Mixpanel project; you can also create custom events that will be tracked automatically by your Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central account. Then click “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the pop-up window. After that, your connections should appear in the connection drop-down menu on top of Power BI screen. Select one of them to connect your project with your Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central account; once it is connected, you will see some data on your dashboard. The last thing you have to do is look through Mixpanel documentation on how to create events in your project.
