  • Access and use business intelligence (BI. data and analytics directly from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central without using an external reporting top

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central enables you to connect to most on-premises and cloud applications through a single integration point called the Provider. The Provider is an Excel Services application that is deployed with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. You can integrate with any application that meets certain requirements and uses protocps supported by the Provider. After you complete the integration project, you can automate business processes and share data with the integrated applications. For example, financial statements created in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central can be automatically sent to Office 365 and reviewed in Excel Online. The integration points provide:

  • A bridge between Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and other applications. Each bridge has its own particular features that support a particular workflow or process.
  • An integrated interface for users to access more than one application from a central location, such as a browser-based hub that you can customize to include links to your other applications.

The Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central connection model supports integration with other on-premises or cloud applications by using connectors. Connectors are available for many popular applications. Each connector works a bit differently depending on the type of application it connects to. Some connectors ensure that data is synchronized between applications. Data synchronization is a two-way process that sends or receives data from one application to another or both ways at the same time. For example, changes from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central can be sent to a CRM application, ensuring that customer data is always up-to-date. In this case, the connector sends data from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to the CRM application. At the same time, changes from the CRM application may also be sent to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central so that customer data is always up-to-date in both applications. To configure a connector, you must first configure the connector’s source application and then configure the connector itself by choosing Configure from its ribbon menu. The source application must support the type of connector you choose. For example, if you want to sync data from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to another application by using a SQL Server Integration Services connector, the other application must support SQL Server Integration Services connectors. In addition, once you choose a connector, you cannot change it without reconfiguring the source application again. To learn more about configuring connectors, see Integrate with other Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central applications by using connectors. To learn more about syncing data between Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and another application, see Synchronize data between Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and another application by using connectors.
