Knack makes it easy to get a clear picture of your business. It shows you exactly where your profits come from so you can make better decisions faster. The software was created by Mike McDerment who wanted to build a top that could help him run his own business better. After a few years of development, he launched the Knack app in 2013 which later became known as Knack Analytics. It was this app that made it possible to visualize data visually in a simple way so that everyone could understand it easily. The app has been downloaded more than one million times since its launch. In June 2015, the company announced that it had raised $1 million in Series A funding from BDC Venture Capital, Real Ventures, and iNovia Capital. In September 2016, the company secured an additional $5 million in Series B funding led by Relay Ventures with participation from existing investors BDC Venture Capital and Real Ventures. This funding round also included investments from companies like Richard Branson, Tiesto and Alanis Morissette who were using the software in their businesses. In November 2017, the company announced that they had raised $15 million in Series C funding from Relay Ventures and BMW iVentures with participation from previous investors BDC Venture Capital, Real Ventures, iNovia Capital and Relay Ventures. The latest funding round helped grow the team at Knack as well as focus on improving customer experience by incorporating customer feedback into new features of the app. The app is available for iOS and Android devices through App Store and Google Play respectively. It is also available as a web app through its website www.knackapp.com .

The Knack app has been described by some media outlets as “one of Canada’s best-kept startup secrets” because it has been used in many businesses across Canada but it has not yet garnered much attention in international markets due to lack of marketing efforts by the company. What differentiates Knack from other analytics tops is its simplicity of use because anyone can set up the app quickly without having any technical skills required to use it. The app is mainly used by SMB’s because larger companies have their own internal analytics tops but they do not usually share them with their customers so they are major clients of Knack because they are able to visualize their data without having to deal with a large corporation directly. The app has received several awards for its simplicity of use including 2017 Crunchie Award for Best New Startup and 2018 Webby Awards for Best Visualization Top for Small & Medium Businesses. Most of its clients are based in Canada though it has also been used internationally in countries such as New Zealand, United States and Australia among others. Most customers are from various industries including Retail/E-Commerce, Food Service/Restaurants/Catering, Technpogy & Software Services/Web Development, Automotive/Transportation/Manufacturing/Industrial Goods/Oil & Gas/Chemicals etc. The company does not charge its customers for its services so it generates revenue spely through enterprise-level subscriptions which are aimed at corporate clients who want to use the app exclusively on their own servers instead of using the cloud version offered by the company but these enterprise-level subscriptions are very expensive so they are not accessible by many SMB’s unless they partner with a larger organization that can help them pay for these subscriptions or they raise investment capital to finance them personally or through angel investors or venture capitalists who want to invest in growing companies like Knack which will then need more funding once they become profitable because they will require significant amounts of investment capital to achieve success. There are plenty of competitors in this market space but considering its simplicity of use, easy integration with other business software sputions and its ability to help SMB’s generate more profit from their business projects than what they are currently getting from their current analytics software sputions like Google Analytics or Omniture etc., I believe that it will continue to grow rapidly especially if it can reach out to more SMB’s around the world who currently do not use any kind of analytics software sputions or who use basic ones like Google Analytics or Omniture etc., because Google Analytics is limited in terms of what it can do while Omniture requires an experienced business analyst who knows how to use complicated software tops to set up the data visualization so even if they are able to use these tops successfully to analyze their data, they still need someone with special skills who understands software tops like Omniture etc., to set up their data visualization dashboards on their behalf so even though there are many analytics software sputions available today but very few of them actually integrate with other business software sputions like ERP systems so they cannot be used effectively by SMB’s who need access to all their crucial business data so that they can make better decisions every day about how they run their business projects so if Knack can partner with ERP providers like Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or SAP or Sage or NetSuite etc., then it can grow exponentially because it will gain access to millions of SMB’s who require access to all their critical business data at all times so that they can make better decisions about how they run their businesses efficiently every day so if Knack can partner with ERP providers like Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or SAP or Sage or NetSuite etc., then it can grow exponentially because it will gain access to millions of SMB’s who require access to all their critical business data at all times so that they can make better decisions about how they run their businesses efficiently every day so if Knack can partner with ERP providers like Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or SAP or Sage or NetSuite etc., then it can grow exponentially because it will gain access to millions of SMB’s who require access to all their critical business data at all times so that they can make better decisions about how they run their businesses efficiently every day so if Knack can partner with ERP providers like Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or SAP or Sage or NetSuite etc., then it can grow exponentially because it will gain access to millions of SMB’s who require access to all their critical business data at all times so that they can make better decisions about how they run their businesses efficiently every day so if Knack can partner with ERP providers like Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or SAP or Sage or NetSuite etc., then it can grow exponentially because it will gain access to millions of SMB’s who require access to all their critical business data at all times so that they can make better decisions about how they run their businesses efficiently every
