Mailchimp is an opt-in email marketing service, which makes it easy for you to create and send emails to your contacts. It also allows you to integrate with a number of third party apps. These integrations allow users to send targeted email campaigns and trigger automated workflows.
Netlify is a web publishing platform that offers features like Deploy from GitHub and Deploy from GitLab, Continuous Deployment, Automatic HTTPS and much more. This platform comes with its own CDN, making your content instantly available worldwide, regardless of the location of your visitors. With Netlify, your site will automatically be deployed whenever you push a change to your git repository.
MailChimp supports a wide range of integrations with other services and automation platforms. You can integrate MailChimp with Zapier and IFTTT, which enables you to automate your email campaigns. If you are using Netlify, then you can use its integration with MailChimp. Using the integration, you can connect MailChimp to Netlify and start sending targeted email blasts. It is vital to understand that MailChimp has no connection with Netlify itself. The integration helps in adding a MailChimp store to Netlify. Once the store is added to Netlify, it becomes possible to build an automated workflow between the two platforms. The integration works with both plans offered by MailChimp and Netlify. As per their pricing plans, the free plan from MailChimp allows up to 2,000 subscribers, 10,000 emails per month and three forms. On the other hand, the free plan from Netlify includes a free SSL certificate, one site hosted on a CDN and unlimited deployments. The premium plan offers full support along with custom domains, 12 custom domains and cplaboration tops.
Without any doubt, the integration of MailChimp and Netlify makes it easier for you to add a storefront to your website. Users can easily include the storefront in their websites using the MailChimp plugin for Netlify. With this integration, they do not have to worry about creating or updating their website anymore as all changes can be made on Netlify directly without having to go through any hassle. Furthermore, the integration allows users to tap into the potential of dynamic content management systems such as Siteleaf and Forestry. This way users can completely redesign their websites without having to update it from within MailChimp. Here is how you can set up your account and integrate your website with MailChimp:
Step 1. Sign up for an account on MailChimp if you don’t already have one.
Step 2. Go to the Account Settings page in your MailChimp account and select ‘Integrations’ from the left tab bar.
Step 3. Select ‘Websites’ from the submenu on the ‘More Integrations’ drop-down list. Click ‘Configure’ under ‘Netlify’ and fplow the instructions on screen to establish a connection with your website hosted on Netlify. You will have to sign into your Netlify account if you haven’t done so already.
Step 4. After signing into your Netlify account, click ‘Authorize’ on the dialog box that appears and then enter your API key. Now you will be able to choose the destination for all new subscribers from your website hosted on Netlify. You can either choose ‘MailChimp Campaigns’ or ‘MailChimp Lists’ option according to your preference. If you choose ‘MailChimp Campaigns’, then all new subscribers will be added to a specific campaign on MailChimp; otherwise if you choose ‘MailChimp Lists’ then all new subscribers will be added to a specific list within MailChimp.
Step 5. Click ‘Save & Close’ on the pop-up dialog box that appears after entering your API key and log into your MailChimp account via its link on Netlify. From there, go to ‘Lists’, which can be found under the ‘Lists’ menu option on the left tab bar above your account dashboard. Now click the ‘Create List’ button at the top right corner of the page and enter an appropriate name for your list. Click ‘Create List’ again after entering all other details like list theme, subscription purpose etc., as required by MailChimp. Now go back to your MailChimp account through its link from Netlify and go to ‘Campaigns’ from the left tab bar above your account dashboard. From there, click ‘Create Campaign’ button at the top right corner of the page and enter an appropriate name for your campaign; choose an appropriate theme for it too and click ‘Create Campaign’ again once you have entered all details as required by MailChimp. Now go back to Netlify by logging into your account through its link from MailChimp and go to ‘Netlify Dashboard’ under ‘Dashboard’ menu option on the left tab bar above your account dashboard. Then click ‘Netlify CMS’ under ‘Content Management System(s)’ menu option on the left tab bar above your account dashboard below your dashboard text. This will take you back to your CMS so that you can start adding content for your campaign or list page on MailChimp via Netlify CMS by creating pages, posts or widgets etc., depending on what kind of content you want to create for MailChimp through Netlify CMS. You can add as many pages as you want for both campaigns and lists; however make sure that each page contains a unique URL so that it is easy for new subscribers to find it on your website via MailChimp emails sent by you. Also, remember that new subscribers should not be directed by emails sent by you via MailChimp directly to Salesforce or any other system because this could result in duplicate subscribers on MailChimp which would in turn lead to unnecessary confusion among people who subscribe via emails sent via either of the two platforms only. With this integration, you can also send automated emails to all subscribers added via Mailchimp to a list saved in Netlify CMS via a custom domain name configured in advance within Mailchimp as well as through First Data Virtual Terminal (FDVT. FDVT is an electronic payment authorization service offered by First Data Corporation that enables merchants to accept payments online through credit card or ACH payments using virtual terminals hosted on virtual devices running on Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system with IIS 7 or later software installed onto it.
