Integration of LinkedIn and Freshdesk

It is a social network designed not only for people to find jobs but also to help companies hire employees. It was founded in 2003 by Reid Hoffman and launched on May 5, 2003.

Freshdesk is a customer support software. Its main focus is on creating a platform where customers could interact with company representatives. It was founded in 2010 by Girish Mathrubootham and Shan Krishnasamy.

LinkedIn and Freshdesk are both based in India. LinkedIn was founded in Mountain View, California, US and Freshdesk was founded in Chennai in 2010. LinkedIn is owned by Microsoft while Freshdesk is owned by One97 Communication. LinkedIn has over 330 million users while Freshdesk has over 12 million customers worldwide. Both companies have been around for more than ten years now. LinkedIn was started by Reid Hoffman, a co-founder of Paypal, and it has raised more than $1 Billion funding from investors like Microsoft, Sequoia Capital, Greylock Partners, Technpogy Crossover Ventures, and Allen & Company. Freshdesk is backed by Redpoint Ventures, Accel Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Blume Ventures.

LinkedIn has been using Ruby on Rails since its inception in 2003. In December 2011, LinkedIn announced that it was moving to the Scala programming language for all new development. Some of the reasons cited for this switch were better performance and productivity gains through cleaner code as well as improved development productivity.

Freshdesk was built on Ruby on Rails and wanted to move from there to a more mature platform for scalability into web and mobile apps. They chose to move to the Java platform because of its maturity and widespread adoption. This would allow them to expand easily into diverse mobile platforms while maintaining ease of contrp and management over the entire system.

Both Freshdesk and LinkedIn are known for their exceptional customer service. Both are very active on social media and maintain transparency between themselves and their clients. They both use several channels to talk to their clients; however, LinkedIn does not use live chat or phone calls while Freshdesk does use live chat as well as phone calls.
