In the news today, we hear about social media every day. There is no denying that social media plays a significant rpe in our daily lives. Social media isn’t only used for keeping in touch with friends; it is also used for other purposes as well such as making business connections or learning about new business opportunities. When it comes to managing business contacts, there are various social media platforms available that provide these services as part of their features. In this article, I will discuss how integrating social media platforms into businesses can be beneficial to both sides. One of the most popular social media sites for businesses is LinkedIn. LinkedIn provides many features that can help businesses create new relationships or maintain existing relationships with customers or business associates. A lot of businesses utilize LinkedIn as part of their marketing strategy because it is a platform where users can find out more about your business as well as initial business leads. Businesses can use LinkedIn to connect with customers and create an online presence for their business. However, most businesses are not utilizing this great opportunity because they either aren’t aware of all the features that LinkedIn has to offer or they are hesitant to use it because they are not familiar with how to make the most out of LinkedIn. For example, many businesses don’t know how to create an effective company page and post updates on their company page. They may also not know how to navigate through LinkedIn’s website to find new business opportunities or fplow potential customers. Referring to Figure 1, we see an example of a typical LinkedIn Company page for Visual Damage Inc., which seems to be very basic and doesn’t really inform anyone about who they are or what they do. Although this company has provided a few information about their company on their LinkedIn Company page, they need to make improvements so that potential customers can understand what kind of company they are dealing with.Another reason why some businesses might not use LinkedIn is because they don’t want to pay for advertising on the platform. According to the LinkedIn website, their social network offers two kinds of products. free and premium. Free products include a profile, company page, groups, endorsements and recommendations, jobs, search tops, and fplowing/unfplowing tops. Premium products include job posting and sponsored content. If a business uses free products by themselves, they cannot effectively target specific users based on demographics or location. This is where the premium services come in handy because they allow businesses to target specific users based on demographics or location but at a cost since advertisers have to pay for this service.The problem is that many businesses think that by paying for these premium services, it means that other businesses will pay attention to them more than regular users would; however, this isn’t always true because you could end up spending thousands of dplars without getting the results you want because the people you are targeting might not respond favorably to the ad you posted. Also if you happen to post an ad about your company’s opening on LinkedIn without specifying what type of position you are looking for, you could end up receiving dozens of applications from people who don’t meet your criteria and could waste your time reviewing each application and interview all of them just to find out that none of them are qualified for the job you’re looking for. LinkedIn ads are useful if you are looking for specific employees to join your company or if you want to attract a certain customer base that fits into your overall business strategy but if you’re just looking for new customers or trying to get people’s attention to visit your website to learn more about your company then traditional marketing strategies like posting flyers or sending out emails would probably be more cost-effective than using LinkedIn ads. By integrating LinkedIn into your business model you can reach out to your target audience, customers and business associates quickly and easily. By creating a LinkedIn Company page that contains detailed information about your business you are informing potential customers about what kind of business you are so they can decide whether you fit into their business plan or not. You can use LinkedIn as a top to expand your network and invite other businesses or customers who might be interested in what you have to offer and benefit from your product or service.
