Webhooks By Connect

Webhooks by Connect is a platform that allows you to develop your own marketing automation system. This platform allows you to easily integrate your existing CRM with third party apps and create workflows without any coding experience. With this platform, you can create webhooks for your CRM that will send data to third party apps when specific events occur. For example if someone subscribes or unsubscribes from a list, you can configure Webhooks by Connect to send data to an app like Appy Pie Connect where you have already setup a webhook and you can then send the data to another app like Salesforce. As you can see, the possibilities are limitless!

Integration of LeadFuze and Webhooks By Connect

In this section of the article, I am going to explain how you can integrate LeadFuze and Webhooks By Connect. To do this, I am going to use a scenario that was created by Webhooks By Connect team. Here is what they said:

“Imagine that you want to know whenever an email campaign has been sent to prospects in your database. So you can add a filter in Gmail that automatically moves all emails containing the word ‘webhooks’ into a separate fpder for later review. You could set up a webhook on Webhooks By Connect, whenever an email campaign is sent out to a prospect, it triggers an event on our platform which will be forwarded onto Appy Pie Connect where it will trigger an action sending that email campaign along with all its details into Salesforce.”

  • Step 1. Create a Filter in Gmail

To create a filter in Gmail, go to the “Settings” tab and click the “Filters and Blocked Addresses” link on the right side of the screen. Click “Create a New Filter” and select “Skip the Inbox (Archive It)” as the action. Then click “Create Filter With this Search” and type “webhooks” into the search bar. Select “Also apply filter to matching conversations” as well as “Also apply filter to conversations with people or public groups” and then click “Create Filter”. Now every email that contains the word “webhooks” will be put in a special fpder for later review.

  • Step 2. Create a Webhook on Webhooks By Connect

Next we will create a webhook on Webhooks By Connect that will trigger an event each time an email campaign is sent out to a prospect in your database. To do this, go to app settings and click on the name of your app. Once there, click on “Webhooks” on the left side of the page, then click on “New Webhook” and choose “Trigger an Event”. From there enter a name for your webhook and choose which event you want it to trigger when (in this case we will choose “when an email is sent to a prospect in my database”. Click “Add Condition” and select “Email Campaign Sent To Prospect” from the drop down menu. Fill in the required fields (you can leave the default values in most cases. and then click “Add Action”. Choose “Send Data to Appendly App” for data format and enter the name of your app for App Name (in my case it was “MailChimp”. Click “Save Changes” once you finish filling out these fields.

  • Step 3. Create a Webhook in Appy Pie Connect That Sends Email Campaign Data To Salesforce

Now we will create a webhook in Appy Pie Connect that sends email campaign data to Salesforce. First log into Appy Pie Connect and click “Make Connects” on the upper right side of the screen. Click “New Connect” and choose Webhooks as one of the triggers. Select Webhooks By Connect as the trigger app and then choose “Trigger an Event” from the drop down menu. Click on “Add Condition” and search for your app name under Apps & Services (in this case our app was named MailChimp. Click on your app name and then choose “When A Webhook Event Is Triggered” from the drop down menu. Then scrpl down until you find the field for event_type (it should read “mail_campaign_sent_to_prospect” by default. and then save changes. Then click on “Add Action” and select Salesforce from the drop down menu (if it isn’t already selected. Choose “Send Data To Salesforce” as the action type and enter your Salesforce credentials into the fields provided (you should get these credentials from Salesforce support team. Select your Salesforce object from the drop down menu (in this case we will choose Account because we want to send email campaign data to Accounts within Salesforce. Finally select the fields that should be sent to Salesforce (in this case we will choose Email Subject, Email From Address, Email To Addresses, Email Time Sent, Email Campaign Text. Save changes when you finish filling out these fields and you are done! That’s it! Now anytime someone sends out an email campaign from MailChimp to one of your prospects in Salesforce, their details will be added into Salesforce!
