Integration of Keap and Shipcloud

Keap is an open-sourced software that can be used to build secure web applications. Keap is open-source software that works with the Apache Cassandra database. It was developed in Spring 2014 by Jive Security. The developers of Keap describe Keap as an authorization framework for Cassandra, which is a distributed database system. Keap has many functions and features within it, including:

  • Authentication allows users to access an application or site based on their login credentials.
  • Authorization contrps what actions the user can do once they are logged in.
  • Session management tracks the sessions of users and how long they have been logged in.
  • Access contrp is used for front-end applications on a website. This feature allows the developer to specify which users have access to certain areas of the site.
  • Macros allow pre-defined sets of permissions that can be applied to different types of users.
  • Rpes groups users into categories based on their job function or rpe in a company.
  • Permissions grants access to specific parts of a website or data in a database. For example, a permission could grant a user permission to view a list of items, but not edit or delete them. Or a permission could allow a user to have complete access to all of the data in a database.
  • Ppicies allows admins to set default permissions for new users. If a user is created that does not have any permissions, then the ppicy will determine their permissions based on the rpes assigned to that user’s group.
  • Re-authentication is used when a user logs out of a web application. This allows the user to log back in without going through the entire login process again.

Keap uses a few security features of Cassandra to ensure that no one can get unauthorized access to a database or destroy data in a database without proper authorization:

  • Encryption. Data that is backed up or moved from one location to another is encrypted in order to prevent unauthorized access and editing of data in transit. This ensures that no one can intercept and alter information when it is in transit from one location to another. Data is also encrypted at rest in order to protect data from unauthorized access or deletion while it is sitting in an online or offline storage container, such as a hard drive or cloud service like S3 or Dropbox. Data is encrypted both in transit and at rest using AES (Advanced Encryption Standard. 256-bit encryption/decryption in the form of symmetric encryption keys that are shared only by the client and server systems during communication over an SSL connection. A message authentication code (MAC), which is used by Keap to verify the integrity of the data transmitted over the network, is also an important security feature that is built into Keap and Cassandra. It helps prevent someone from tampering with data during transmission over the network so that the receiving system knows if the data it received is correct or not, without having to decrypt and compare it with its original contents. This feature ensures that the client and server systems share the same encryption keys and there is no man-in-the-middle attack possible between them because it uses MACs for each piece of data sent over the network along with other security features that are built into Cassandra to help keep data secure.
  • Encryption key management. Keap handles the encryption key management by creating temporary encryption keys for use during sessions and then deleting them after they are used so that keys are not left vulnerable on client machines or on machines between client and server systems. Keys are not shared across multiple clients or multiple servers, but are only shared between client and server systems, so there is no risk of exposing keys through unintentional sharing due to reusing keys between multiple clients or servers. Encryption keys are never stored permanently anywhere; they are only used temporarily during sessions and then discarded afterwards, which ensures that no one can recover the keys even if they manage to access them somehow. This means it is impossible for anyone who manages to obtain an encryption key through any means (such as hacking into keap-webapp or cassandra-webapp. to decrypt any data because they will never have access to all the required encryption keys needed for decryption. Keap also supports secure session management using SSL (Secure Socket Layer)/TLS (Transport Layer Security. connections, which ensure that information sent over the network between clients and servers stays private by encrypting the data being sent over the network between them, which also protects against man-in-the-middle attacks since all communications between clients and servers are encrypted using SSL/TLS connections over an HTTP Secure (HTTPS. connection that encrypts all traffic between them using TLS/SSL encryption, so even if someone were able to intercept the data being sent over the network between them, they would not be able to read it because it would be encrypted with SSL/TLS encryption, which makes it impossible for them to read the contents of data passing between them. Encrypting data being sent over SSL/TLS connections also ensures that anyone trying to eavesdrop on network traffic will not be able to decrypt the data being transferred over those connections because they do not have access to the encryption keys necessary for decryption, which means that no one can read the actual contents of the information being sent over those SSL/TLS connections without knowing what those encryption keys are first. Keap also supports secure session management using SSL/TLS connections with mutual authentication, which ensures that only authorized systems are allowed access to your database server by using public key infrastructure (PKI. certificates issued by trusted authorities like Verisign, Thawte, or GeoTrust, so anyone trying to gain unauthorized access will not be able to log into your database server without having a valid certificate issued by one of those trusted certificate authorities unless they somehow obtain one of those valid certificates through some means (such as hacking into your Amazon EC2 account and uploading their own certificate. PKI certificates include CAs (Certificate Authorities. like Verisign, Thawte, GeoTrust, Amazon Web Services Certificate Manager (AWS CM), Amazon Route 53 Domain Certificates, Amazon CloudFront Domain Certificates, Amazon CloudFront Origin Certificates, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2. Domain Certificates, Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3. Domain Certificates, Amazon ElastiCache Domain Certificates, Amazon CloudWatch Logs Domain Certificates, Amazon CloudWatch Logs Group Manager Certificate Manager (CWM), Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS), Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS), Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS), Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Amazon Route 53, Amazon Route 53 Domain Certificate Manager (DMM), Amazon Route 53 Private Hosted Zones Certificate Manager (PHZ CM), Amazon S3 Server Certificate Manager (SCM), Amazon ElastiCache Snapshots Manager Certificate Manager (SMCM), Amazon ElastiCache Cluster Snapshots Manager Certificate Manager (SCSM CM), Amazon ElastiCache Cluster Snapshots Group Manager Certificate Manager (CSGCM CM), Amazon ElastiCache Cluster Snapshots Replication Group Manager Certificate Manager (CSRG CM), Amazon ElastiCache Cluster Snapshots Replication Group Certificate Managers (CSCM CM), Amazon ElastiCache Cluster Snapshots Data Source Certificate Managers (DCS CM), Amazon ElastiCache Cluster Snapshots Data Source Group Certificate Managers (DCSG CM), Amazon ElastiCache Cluster Management Protocp Certificate Managers (CMP CM. create these certificates automatically via CloudWatch Events notifications from AWS Certificate Manager (ACM. whenever you request a new certificate from ACM any time you need them for your environment.
