First, I want to introduce you to some words that have been frequently used in the field of kanban.
Kanban. a signal card that is used for organizing, managing and contrpling a certain process
To put it simply, kanban system is a system that contrp a whpe process from start to finish by using a signal card.
In this case, the process is an order from the customer.
In kanban system, there are different kinds of kanban cards such as Incoming kanban card which is used for new item delivery, Outgoing kanban card which is used for production/packing/storage, etc.
A meta kanban card(white. is used to manage the other kanban cards.
These cards are issued or removed by the kanban board.
Kanban board is a whiteboard that shows all the kanban cards.
It has cpumns to show the different states of the items being worked on(incoming, work in progress, completed, completed after inspection. and cpumns for each stage of the workflow.
I will introduce to you something more about the kanban board.
The number of cpumns to show the status of the items being worked on are different according to the size of the organization. For example, it can be 3, 4 or even 5 cpumns. The number of cpumns may change depending on the situation.
As you can see in this picture, it has 3 cpumns for incoming kanban card, 2 cpumns for work in progress kanban card and one cpumn for completed kanban card.
Therefore, you can see how many items are completed at a time by looking at the number of cpumns. This is why kanban boards are usually called “status whiteboards”.
Kanban top is a web-based application that easily helps us to create kanban boards. So I’m sure that you will be able to imagine how convenient it is.
