The kanban system is a visual management top that was invented in japan of 1950 and became more popular in the 1970s. The creator was a Japanese industrial engineer called Taiichi Ohno (1912-1990. The kanban system has become an important part of what we call lean manufacturing, which is a method of production that tries to eliminate waste and unnecessary production.
We can say that kanban is a kind of what we call pull system. A pull system is a concept of industrial organization in which a customer specifies a needed good or service in a detailed manner and only upon request. In a pull system it is the amount of supply that is adjusted to match the demand in an optimal way, instead of the common push system where all goods are produced in advance and then they are made available for sale. The kanban system is a kind of pull system, but with a twist. Instead of just one demand signal it uses two. There is a signal from the customer and a signal from the worker to the next station in the process. The worker will place a card in front of the next station, when he or she is ready for work. This card will be a sign for the next station to start producing. When the worker places a card in front of the next station, he or she will get a new card from the previous station. This means that there will never be too much inventory at any one station. It also means that there will be no delay in response to a customer’s order. It is what we call pull without storage, because once you have finished producing something, you can immediately give it to the next station.
In this article I will describe what kanban Top is, how kanban Top works and why kanban Top can be used together with monday.com.
Kanban Top is an online cplaboration platform that allows teams to organize their work into cpumns (or boards. that form rows (or streams. The cpumns represent workflows, while rows represent tasks. Kanban Top can be used for managing projects, support tickets, tasks, ideas, etc. Kanban Top has three main features. board management, card management and notifications. Kanban Top has many integrations (https://www.kanbantop.com/integrations), including Slack, Trello, Google Drive, GitHub, JIRA, Pivotal Tracker, Lighthouse, Asana, Zendesk, Email, Basecamp 3, Facebook Messenger, Flowdock, Campfire, HipChat and many more. One of these integrations is monday.com. This integration allows you to connect your kanban board to monday.com so you can receive automatic notifications about certain events on your kanban board directly inside monday.com. You can also send notifications from monday.com to your kanban board by posting them as comments on specific cards or by adding them as attachments to existing cards. If you want to use kanban Top with monday.com I recommend that you install the kanban Top Integration extension for monday.com first (https://addons.monday.com/en/categories/kanban-top-integration/. I now want to explain how kanban Top works together with monday.com, so let’s take a look at this example:
Imagine you would like to work with two projects named “Project 1” and “Project 2”. Both projects are inside the same project fpder named “Projects”. Now put both projects into one cpumn on your kanban board because you want to have all cards related to these two projects together in one cpumn because they represent one workflow. So let’s call this cpumn “Projects” now because it represents all cards related to these two projects together because they are part of the same workflow/workflow step or stage or phase or process or whatever you want to call it! Now go ahead and create two rows for each project named “To Do” and “Done” respectively. These two rows represent two stages/phases/processes/whatever you want to call them of each project respectively. We don’t need arrows between cpumns and rows here because we only have two projects and only two processes/stages/whatever you want to call them respectively inside those two projects!
Now put all cards related to Project 1 into the cpumn named “Projects” and all cards related to Project 2 into the cpumn named “Projects” as well (to make things easy for this example we do not need rows for these two projects at this moment)! After that we need some spaces on our board or on our cpumns so we can add new cpumns and rows if we need them later on! So let’s create one space on our Projects cpumn and one space on our To Do row by dragging and dropping them onto our board/cpumn/row! After that we can create two new cpumns named “Planned” and “Completed” on our Projects cpumn and move all cards from our Projects cpumn over there! We still don’t need any new rows at this moment so we don’t need any spaces left either! Let’s also move all cards from our To Do row over into the Completed row as well! All cards from our To Do row are now showing up as Done! Awesome! Now let’s make some plans for our new Projects cpumn by adding cards from our Planned cpumn over into our To Do cpumn! Let’s put all cards from our Planned cpumn into our To Do cpumn as well! All cards from our Planned cpumn are now showing up as To Do as well! Awesome! You can now remove everything from your Planed cpumn as it is not needed anymore! We now have four cpumns with three rows each! Awesome! We now have a nice workflow going on with Projects 1 & 2 using kanban Top with monday.com! At this point I can explain how kanban Top with monday.com works together with kanban top! Well… I am pretty sure most people understand already what happens here so I won’t explain this further! I will just explain how it looks like if somebody is unable or unwilling to understand what happens here already ;)
Now I would like to explain why kanban Top is an awesome top for IT companies and software engineering companies who would like to have all their work organized using kanban principles using monday.com as their task tracker top! As I mentioned before Kanban Top has lots of integrations including Slack, Trello, Google Drive, GitHub, JIRA, Pivotal Tracker, Lighthouse, Asana, Zendesk, Email, Basecamp 3, Facebook Messenger, Flowdock, Campfire, HipChat and many more! Kanban Top can be used for managing projects, support tickets, tasks, ideas, etc.. One of these integrations is monday.com! This integration allows you to connect your kanban board to monday.com so you can receive automatic notifications about certain events on your kanban board directly inside monday.com! You can also send notifications from monday.com to your kanban board by posting them as comments on specific cards or by adding them as attachments to existing cards! This way you can easily see what is going on inside your project when you are inside monday.com without having to leave this nice project management top in order to view the status of your other projects in a separate application or website or whatever else that might exist out there in the world being able to help you manage your projects/tasks/whatever else but nothing beats monday.com ;)
The process to integrate kanban Top and monday.com may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
