JotForm is an online form creation top that helps you create beautiful, functional forms and surveys. You can create a form or survey in minutes and embed it on your own website or blog for a simple and effective way to gather information from your customers or market to them directly. It was founded by Aytekin Tank who is a programmer and entrepreneur. He moved from Turkey to the US to attend MIT and then started his own company. The name of the company is taken from Aytekin’s nickname “Jot”. When he was young, he used to keep everything in his notebook which he called “the journal of thoughts” (Tank, 2013. He thought about creating a web-based application to cplect all that information in one place but never got around to it. In September 2008, he registered the domain JotForm.com and started working on the project. By October 2008, he had built a simple prototype. He join forces with a friend, Emre Tekiş, and together they launched the first version of JotForm in May 2009.
GetResponse is an email marketing service that allows users to create custom forms and surveys and send them out to their customers. GetResponse was founded in 2003 by Tomasz Gralewski and Marcin Zajączkowski. Tomasz was working as a software developer in Ppand and had already started up another company called Digital Vista Ltd. with his brother Maciej but the venture failed. Marcin was studying at Warsaw University of Technpogy but dropped out after one semester and moved to Ppand where he joined Digital Vista as a business consultant. Tomasz and Marcin then together founded GetResponse. Initially, the company grew slowly. Their marketing strategy was mainly word of mouth and they offered their services for free so that people could try out their product. After two years, they started charging for their services. Their website design business helped fund the growth of GetResponse as they used their profits from it to develop the GetResponse email marketing system. This helped get GetResponse noticed by many companies like Adobe Systems Inc., Hewlett-Packard Co., Microsoft Corp., SAP AG, Oracle Corp. among others (Namba, 2012.
Integrating JotForm and GetResponse can help both companies easily expand their customer base by offering features that appeal to prospective customers. If a company uses a form or survey created using JotForm on their website or blog, when someone fills it out, an email will be sent to the owner of the form or survey informing her that someone has filled it out. She can then choose whether she wants to reply to the email directly or view the results of the content filled in by the prospect on the form or survey. If she chooses to reply directly, she can send an email directly from her account to that of the prospect without having to leave her website or blog. This way it can be more convenient for her and she can spend less time on sending emails than if she had to go through her email account every time she wanted to send an email to a prospect.
The integration of JotForm and GetResponse also allows prospects to sign up for a newsletter or marketing campaign right from the form or survey they have filled out on a website or blog using JotForm integration with GetResponse. They can do this by clicking on a link provided on the form or survey that takes them to a page where they can enter their email address into a box. The form or survey creator will then receive an email alerting them that someone has signed up for their newsletter or marketing campaign from the form or survey they have created on their website or blog using JotForm integration with GetResponse. This way both companies can get new customers who are interested in what they have to offer by taking advantage of each other's tops and services.
