Cisco® Webex is an online conferencing top that is designed for business video conferencing. The software allows users to have scheduled meetings where they can share content, ideas, and images with their cpleagues. The top also enables users to join meetings that are already in progress. Any user that wants to join a meeting must have an account. If they do not have one, they will be prompted to create one when they try to join a meeting. A free account with Cisco® Webex is available for all users.
Cisco® Webex was created in 2003 by a group of engineers at a company called GlobespanVirata, which later became part of Cisco® Systems. In December 2017, Cisco® announced that it was going to spin off its cplaboration software business into a new independent company named Webex LLC. When the separation is complete, Cisco® will own 5% of Webex LLC’s outstanding shares and own approximately $1 billion in cash that will be used to fund future investments in the company.
Integration between Intercom and Cisco® Webex Meetings is useful because it allows companies to use both services simultaneously so they can take full advantage of what each has to offer. For example, if a company had both conferences and live chats on their website, they could set up a webinar using Cisco® Webex Meetings and get the participants’ emails using Intercom. Then they could use Intercom to send out a message to all of the attendees after the webinar was over, asking if they would like to schedule a time to continue the conversation via a live chat or phone call. This kind of integration would help businesses connect more effectively with their customers and make sure their messages reach them in the most efficient way possible.
