According to research published by three Stanford University schpars in 2015 based on studying how celebrities use Instagram, postings containing more than 10 images per day were ignored 92% of the time by viewers on average. The researchers noted that celebrities get more likes on their posts when they post more – up to 2.6% likes per additional image past 10 images per day – but they also receive more criticism from viewers when they post more often. With the introduction of Stories in August 2016, celebrities who post regularly about their lives lost 25% of their audience. With their frequent posts having been commented on less because of the new feature. An analysis published in April 2015 found that 90% of fashion company posts on Instagram contained images taken by professional photographers instead than selfies taken by customers; companies should consider this because customers do not relate as positively with professionally shot photos as those taken by amateurs.
