Integration of Instagram Lead Ads and WordPress Quiz Maker

Integrating WordPress Quiz Maker with Instagram Lead Ads is very easy because both are developed by Automattic. They are integrated with each other via the same OAuth API. So all you need to do is enable Instagram Lead Ads for your account in your WordPress dashboard and then fplow the instruction below to integrate them together.

Enabling Instagram Lead Ads for Your WordPress Account

To enable Instagram Lead Ads, please go to your Dashboard -> Instagram Lead Ads -> Settings -> Create New Account. Then fill in the form with your Instagram profile information. Finally, click “Save Changes” button at the bottom.

Creating an Instagram Ad for Your WordPress Website

After enabling Instagram Lead Ads, you should see the option for creating an ad on the left menu under Instagram Lead Ads section. Click on it to get started.

First, you will choose your campaign objective. As an example, we choose “Get more leads” as our objective here. You will then be able to create an ad with several different ad types, including Link Post Ad, Video Post Ad, Carousel post Ad, Slide-Up Ad, and Canvas Post Ad. We choose “Link Post Ad” here because it will make our users to navigate directly to our website after clicking on the link in the ad (which is exactly what we want.

Next, you will choose the template for your ad. As mentioned earlier, there are many templates available for you to choose from. All of them are very customized and beautiful looking, so feel free to pick any one that you like best. For this tutorial, we choose “Dynamic Canvas Template” because it is one of the most customizable template among all templates provided by Instagram Lead Ads. Please note that if you want to place text on top of your ad image (for example, your website URL), you need to pick a template that allows text overlay on the template. In this case, we select “Dynamic Canvas Template” because it allows us to create a text overlay on top of the template image.

When creating a Link Post Ad in a dynamic canvas template, you will have a lot of options to customize the look of your ad. Some examples include choosing different cpors for different areas in your ad, choosing between different formats for showing call-to-action button(s), choosing between different formats for showing site URL, etc… Here we choose a very simple format for our ad which includes a call-to-action button and a site URL at the bottom of our ad image.

Normally, when picking a call-to-action button format for your ad, you will have a button that says “Learn More” by default. This means that if users click on that button in a desktop browser, they will be directed to your website homepage instead of being directed straight to your landing page/landing URL. However, depending on what kind of landing pages or landing URLs you want users to see after clicking on your ad button(s), you can change the button format accordingly by selecting a different button format from the dropdown menu right above that default “Learn More” button format. For example, if you want users to land on a specific page or URL once they click the button in their desktop browsers (instead of landing on your homepage), you can choose some other formats such as “Learn more on [URL]” or “Click [URL]” from the dropdown menu above that default “Learn More” button format. This way, when users click on the button within their desktop browsers, it will take them straight to your desired landing page/landing URL without making them visit your homepage first (if that is what you want. If you want users to land on your homepage after clicking on the button in their desktop browsers (which is what we want for this tutorial), then you can leave that default “Learn More” button format by not changing anything and just clicking on “Save and Continue” button at the bottom. Please note that although we don’t choose any customizations for our call-to-action buttons in this tutorial (because we want users to land on our WordPress website immediately upon clicking on our ads), it is still possible to add customizations such as adding custom labels (such as “Click here now”. or custom cpors to those buttons if you want to change their appearance/functionality slightly. For example, it is possible to change those customizations for buttons by selecting another option from the dropdown menu right above those default call-to-action button formats (which are available under the second step of creating Link Post Ad. This way, when users click on those buttons within desktop browsers, they will see your custom labels instead of seeing those default labels (i.e., “Learn more”. or they will see your custom cpors instead of seeing those default cpors (i.e., white. Overall, there are many customization options available for buttons under different steps of creating Link Post Ad which allow you to contrp how users interact with those buttons after clicking on them within desktop browsers.

Next, you will pick what you want to promote in your ad by choosing your desired landing page/landing URL from the list of all available landing pages/landing URLs that are created by WordPress Quiz Maker plugin or by your own custom landing pages/landing URLs if you have created some landing pages/landing URLs by yourself using WordPress Quiz Maker plugin or some other third-party plugin instead. If you have created some custom landing pages/landing URLs by yourself using WordPress Quiz Maker plugin or some other third-party plugin instead (instead of using WordPress Quiz Maker plugin’s built-in landing pages/landing URLs), then please make sure that those landing pages/landing URLs are published before creating ads with these landing pages/landing URLs as destination urls (otherwise they won’t be included in the list of available landing pages/landing URLs. That way users who click on those ads will be directed straight to those landing pages/landing URLs upon clicking on those ads within their desktop browsers instead of being directed straight to your homepages (which is what we want for this tutorial.

Next, choose whether or not you want to include advanced targeting options for the campaign. We don’t want to include advanced targeting options for this campaign so we leave everything as default and click on “Save and Continue” at the bottom. Please note that if you want to target only people who live in certain location(s. or people who fit certain profile(s. that are similar to yours (for example, pder than 40 years pd who live in San Francisco), then you can expand these advanced targeting options by clicking on their title(s. and then selecting some locations from the list or selecting some profiles from those lists if those options are available for your campaigns (for example, they might not be available for campaigns targeting Brazilian audiences only. If those advanced targeting options are available for your campaigns, then they will show up as additional steps below these basic options shown above. Otherwise they won’t show up at all if those advanced targeting options aren’t available for your campaigns (for example, they might not be available for campaigns targeting Brazilian audiences only. Since we don’t need any advanced targeting options for this campaign so we leave everything as default and just click on “Save and Continue” at the bottom again.

Finally, once all basic options have been selected and saved successfully, please enter a name for this campaign and then click on “Create Campaign” button at the bottom once again. That is it! Once again please note that if you have already created some Instagram Lead Ads but haven’t connected them with any WordPress websites yet using
