Instagram, also known as IG, is a photo and video-sharing social networking service. It was founded by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger on October 6, 2010, and is headquartered in Menlo Park, California.[1] Its community allows users to upload photos and videos, fplow other users’ feeds, and tag content with hashtags.

In November 2016, Instagram released Boomerang,[20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32][33][34] a feature allowing users to share videos that play backwards and forwards. The app also added support for other languages such as Arabic, Danish, Dutch, Hungarian, Malay and Vietnamese.

On August 2, 2017, Instagram announced that it would allow advertisers to buy “Instagram TV” advertising to promote videos that play on Instagram’s vertical video format. The move marked an evpution for the platform as it attempts to further emulate the commercial appeal of television.
