HubSpot was founded in 2006 by Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah. It is a marketing software company that helps businesses to generate leads, manage relationships, and eventually close sales. HubSpot was acquired by Inbound Marketing, which is an arm of Salesforce, for $800 million in August 2014.

HubSpot was launched in the year 2006. It was founded by two MIT graduates Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah. Its headquarters are located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The purpose behind the establishment of HubSpot was to provide businesses with a marketing software spution that would help them to generate leads, manage relationships, and eventually close sales. The company conducts its business through a Software as a service model, where it provides its services on the cloud and hence no installation is required.

HubSpot has been invpved in multiple acquisitions since its inception. In 2011, it acquired Instapage for $15 million. In 2012, it acquired Reach Local for $45 million. In 2013, it acquired Website Grader and Social Radian6 for $36 million and $60 million respectively. In 2014, it acquired PipeDrive for $100 million.

In the year 2014, it was acqui-hired by inbound marketing platform Salesforce, for $800 million. According to reports, the acquisition provided HubSpot with access to technpogy, talent, products, customers and other resources which would help it leverage its position in the online marketing industry.

HubSpot has four pricing plans which vary according to the number of contacts that are being managed by the company. These packages are listed below:

Basic. This plan allows one to track up to 500 contacts, create campaigns that target up to 100 contacts and maintain any number of landing pages. This plan costs $200 per month. Professional. This plan allows one to track up to 3,000 contacts and send up to 500 emails per month. This plan costs $400 per month. Premium. This plan allows one to track up to 50,000 contacts and send up to 10,000 emails per month. This plan costs $1,000 per month. Enterprise. This plan allows one to track unlimited contacts and send unlimited emails per month. This plan costs $3,000 per month.

The company also offers a free starter plan that limits tracking of only 100 contacts and sending of only 50 emails per month. Other users can upgrade to any of the above plans by paying an additional charge of $50 per month for the next tier of services.
