How Habitica & Tookan Integrations Work

Integration of Habitica and Tookan

Habitica is a free to play game that uses gamification to motivate players to create and maintain healthy habits. It is available as an app on Android and iOS, as well as a web-based platform that can be accessed via browser. It is a highly customizable top that can be tailored to suit one's needs.

Tookan is a third-party application that integrates Habitica with Todoist, an online task manager. When properly configured, the integration allows users to create tasks in Todoist, which then appear on Habitica as Dailies or Habits, or as rewards for completing Dailies or Habits. This integration makes it easy for Habitica users to manage their tasks in both Habitica and Todoist without having to switch between apps.

Integration of Habitica and Tookan

This guide will help you integrate Habitica and Todoist by using Tookan.

  • Download and register for Tookan

Tookan is available for Windows, Mac OSX and Linux on the download page. You will also need a Todoist account in order to use Tookan. If you do not already have a Todoist account, you may register for one here.

  • Install and run Tookan

Double-click the downloaded file to launch the installer. Fplow the steps to install Tookan. The installation process should be self-explanatory. After installation, go to your Start menu and launch Tookan. Click 'Cancel' if you are prompted to open the application in a browser. Click 'Next' if you are prompted to check for updates.

  • Connect Tookan to your Habitica account

In the Tookan window, click 'Add an account'. If you do not see this button, make sure you have selected 'Advanced'. Select the service you want to add from the drop-down menu at the top of the window; select 'Habitica' or 'Todoist' depending on which service you are using. Enter your login credentials for that service. Note that if you registered for an account in the previous step, your username is your email address and your password is whatever password you chose when creating your account. Once logged in, you will be prompted with a message informing you that you may now start using your new service. Select 'OK' to close the message box and proceed. The window will display a list of all your tasks in the selected service, along with statuses such as 'New', 'Archived', 'Due Today', etc. If you do not see any tasks in this list, double-check that you have connected properly and that you have entered your login credentials correctly. You may now add tasks to Todoist or Habitica by clicking on their respective buttons at the top of the window. Please note that if you are using Todoist, only tasks of type 'Project' can be added as Habits or Dailies. All other types of tasks (e.g., 'Task', 'Subproject'. cannot be added as Habits or Dailies.

  • Create a Task in Todoist
