Habitica is a free, web and mobile application that allows users to build habits and achieve goals by completing quests. The app is available on the web, mobile (iOS and Android), or as a desktop app for Mac OS X. It was founded by Dain Ironfoot and Alex Au in 2013. The main idea behind Habitica was to help people maintain healthy habits and make progress towards achieving their goals. In September 2014, Habitica released an open-source project called HabitRPG. Open Source Edition which allows users to run Habitica on their own servers.
DataBox is a web app that allows users to create lists of data and share it with others. DataBox was founded in August of 2014 by Kyle Hawley and Scott Phillips. It has many features that allow users to easily organize their information. Some of these features include a searchable database, bulk editing, and changing privacy settings. Users can create different lists and add data to these lists using the DataBox app. Users can then share these lists with others. When sharing a list with someone else on DataBox, you can choose whether or not to share your personal information as well. You can also choose whether or not to allow those who have access to edit the list. DataBox is very similar to Habitica because it encourages users to set and complete goals by creating checklists of what needs to be done.
The integration of Habitica and Databox would spve one of the biggest problems that both apps face. Habitica requires users to manually enter data into the app via the user’s browser or phone. This takes time and makes it difficult for users to keep track of what they are doing. If a user enters a habit into the app but forgets about it, it will be lost forever. Databox spves this problem because it allows users to store their data in a shared database that they can later access from anywhere. Integration of Habitica and Databox would allow users to automatically sync their habits data with Databox without having to enter it twice.
Integration of Habitica and Databox would also create new opportunities for each app. The integration would allow users to more easily track their progress on Habitica’s existing database of over 2 million habits and 10,000 challenges. This new feature could lead to increased downloads for each app because users will find it easy to continue tracking their habits after integrating their accounts.
For those who are already using both apps, integration between them would be very useful because it would eliminate the need for entering data twice which leads to mistakes and wasted time better spent working on other projects. It would also save space on the user’s phone because they would no longer need two different apps to help them achieve their goals. However, this integration would have little effect on those who are only using Habitica or only using Databox because they will still only be able to use Habitica or Databox respectively.
Habitica is a good app but it does have some room for improvement so we give it 8.5/10 stars. We think that integration of Habitica and Databox would improve this app by allowing for automatic syncing of data between the two apps which saves time and effort for the user. It would help Habitica by improving its database capacity and creating new opportunities for growth among its existing user base. Overall, we think that integration of Habitica and Databox would be an excellent decision for both apps because it spves a problem while creating opportunities for growth for both apps that are already popular with many users.
