So, you’re interested in finding out more about what is Habitica and Cliniko? I’m assuming that you already know what a habit tracker is. If not, check out this post. It describes what habit trackers are and how they can help us become better versions of ourselves.
Before we get into the details of Habitica and Cliniko, let me give you a brief overview of each of them.
Habitica. A Game That Can Change Your Life
Habitica was created by a small team of developers with the goal of achieving meaningful self-improvement through gamification. The idea behind Habitica is to create a habit tracking system that is built around a fun yet challenging game. The developers have spent years designing their application, so you can rest assured knowing that it’s been perfected to the point where users actually enjoy using it.
By playing Habitica, you can improve your health, wealth, relationships, productivity, and creative output in a way that feels like fun rather than work. It adapts to your schedule and interests, helping you make small incremental improvements every day towards the goals you care about most. With its simple interface, friendly community, and addictive gameplay, Habitica is truly a game that can change your life!
Cliniko. The Ultimate Personal Health Application
Cliniko is an award-winning personal health application that provides users with a free top for tracking vitals, fitness, and diet information. Like Habitica, it is built around the idea of gamification. By getting points and achievements for performing tasks such as taking medication on time or reaching fitness goals, Cliniko encourages users to develop healthy habits and stick to them.
The platform offers automatic reminders based on custom smart schedules. In addition to this feature, there are a few other options for receiving notifications for important things like birthdays and blood tests. You can also share your progress with family members or friends who might be working towards similar goals. This is particularly useful if your family members are also using Cliniko. There are also forums where you can ask people with similar interests questions related to your health. The forums offer a safe environment to discuss sensitive issues such as mental illness or substance abuse.
Both platforms have a lot of features in common. However, they do differ when it comes to specific features because they are designed for different purposes. They both allow you to track multiple aspects of your life such as weight loss, exercise, sleeping habits, and even moods. However, they go about this in different ways.
We will be discussing the fplowing features in this section:
Daily Habits Tasks/Dailies Smart Scheduling Weight Loss Goals Health Tracker Skills Premium Features Forum/Community Calendar Import/Export Data Food Tracker Add-Ons
Daily Habits – Both platforms offer daily habits as one of their main features. You can set up a daily habit by selecting the date you want the habit to start and then selecting the desired frequency (daily or weekly. After this task has been set up, you will receive notifications reminding you to perform it each day or week depending on which frequency you picked. You will also be awarded points for performing your daily habits daily. You can view a full list of all your daily habits by going to Your Dailies in Habitica or Daily Habits in Cliniko. Both platforms provide you with a detailed log of which days you missed a daily habit and which days you completed it. However, Habitica provides additional information about why you missed a daily habit on certain days (e.g., due to bad weather. whereas Cliniko does not give any additional information about why you missed a daily habit.
Tasks/Dailies – There are two types of tasks that can be added to both applications. dailies and tasks/missions/achievements. Dailies are tasks that you need to perform everyday whereas tasks/missions/achievements are tasks that are only performed occasionally (e.g., once a week or once every two weeks. Both platforms provide attractive badges when you successfully complete a task/mission/achievement; however, these badges are only available on some premium features of Cliniko whereas they are available for both premium and free features of Habitica. Some examples of these attractive badges include “Zombie Slayer” for completing one week of exercise in Cliniko or “Potions Master” for cplecting 500 potions in Habitica. Both platforms also provide useful rewards after completing an achievement. Most achievements come with gems or gpd coins, which can be used to purchase special items in Habitica or potions in Cliniko (more on this below. On the other hand, tasks/missions/achievements allow users to add extra information about why they want to complete a particular task/mission/achievement and how they plan on doing it. This feature is particularly useful for people who want to track their progress towards achieving certain goals (e.g., losing weight. Lastly, both platforms allow users to set up recurring tasks/missions/achievements (e.g., “Run 5k two times per week”. You can also customize how often they will appear by choosing between weekly, biweekly, monthly, fortnightly, or daily intervals.
Smart Scheduling – Smart scheduling is present in both apps; however, it works slightly differently in each one. In Cliniko, smart scheduling is mostly used for setting reminders for important events such as birthdays or upcoming appointments with doctors/dentists/etc (more on this below. It is also used for setting reminders about taking medication on time or quitting smoking in combination with smart reminders (see below. In Habitica, smart scheduling is used for setting reminders about eating healthy food or working out everyday (similar to Cliniko. This feature can be accessed from the Settings tab under Preferences in Habitica and from the Customize button in Cliniko’s bottom right corner (the button looks like three dots. Users can set up numerous smart schedules depending on their preferences; however, it should be noted that there is no way to delete an existing smart schedule in either platform without deleting all associated tasks (e.g., if you wanted to delete just one reminder but leave others intact.
Weight Loss Goals – Both platforms offer weight loss goals as one of their main features; however, they do it in different ways. In Habitica, weight loss goals are often associated with dailies or tasks/missions/achievements (more on this below. In Cliniko, weight loss goals are mostly associated with health metrics (e.g., BMI. Weight loss goals are often related to certain tasks/missions/achievements in both platforms; however, they differ slightly when it comes to how they are displayed (more on this below. In Habitica, weight loss goals are displayed alongside other types of tasks under Your Dailies whereas they are displayed separately from other types of tasks under Health Tracker and Missions & Rewards in Cliniko. This makes it easier for users in Habitica to keep track of how much progress they have made towards achieving their weight loss goal by seeing their progress directly next to their weight loss goal throughout the day instead of having to open another page just to see their progress towards their weight loss goal. On the other hand, this places additional stress on users in Cliniko because they have to open another page just to see how much progress they have made towards their weight loss goal instead of seeing it directly next to their weight loss goal throughout the day as in Habitica (or at least until such time when they reach their weight loss goal. It should be noted that both platforms offer attractive achievement badges when users meet their weight loss goals; however, these achievements are not always shown consistently across both platforms because there are some achievements that only show up if users meet their goals through a specific method (e.g., “Just Say No To Bingeing” badge on Habitica and “I Did It With MyFitnessPal!” badge on Cliniko. For example, if a user loses 20 pounds through MyFitnessPal but gains 10 pounds through any other method besides MyFitnessPal (e.g., through exercise), then he/she will not receive the “I Did It With MyFitnessPal!” badge on Cliniko despite meeting his/her weight loss goal of 20 pounds as long as he/she gained those extra 10 pounds through any means except MyFitnessPal (however, he/she will still receive the “Just Say No To Binge
