Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2. is a web service provided by Amazon Web Services. Amazon EC2 provides resizable compute capacity in the cloud. It is designed to make web-scale cloud computing easier for developers. Amazon EC2 eliminates the need to invest in hardware up front, making it easy to scale up and down as your traffic and storage needs change. Amazon EC2 reduces the time required to obtain and boot new server instances to minutes. Amazon EC2 provides developers with programmatic access to their resources through an industry-standard Management Conspe, Command Line Interface, or APIs. Amazon EC2 enables you to launch Windows, Linux/UNIX, and FreeBSD instances.
Because Amazon EC2 is a cloud-based service, it makes sense to integrate it with Habitica. This would allow users to run their Habitica account on a server that is hosted on Amazon EC2 while being able to go about their day while still being able to update their habit progress. The best thing about this integration is that it would be completely free for both users and Habitica themselves. By hosting a virtual server that runs a copy of Habitica on Amazon EC2, Habitica can save money and not have to pay for any additional hosting or servers. For the user, they would be able to use all the standard Habitica features but would also be able to continue using their browser and computer while they’re using the hosting server. That way they won’t be forced to restart their computer or close out of their browser if they don’t want to. Plus, there would be little lag time since the hosting server would already be running and shouldn’t affect their browser performance in any way.
This integration would benefit both the user and Habitica in multiple ways. For the user, they will still get all of their normal Habitica functionality without having to worry about losing their progress when they’re not near their computer. They can also use the hosting server as a backup server so even if they forget to sync their data before they leave they still have the data saved on the server. For Habitica, they will still be able to offer all of their normal features but will also be able to save money on hosting and bandwidth costs since they won’t have to support anything running on Amazon EC2. They will also gain more users due to the fact that the Amazon EC2 integration will allow them to expand into markets that they normally wouldn’t have access to. This integration would be especially helpful for people who live in remote areas where broadband Internet isn’t available or are in places where Internet connection speeds are incredibly slow due to high latency rates. Amazon EC2 would allow them access to all of Habitica’s features without having to worry about accessibility issues.
