Integration of Gravity Forms and SMS By Connect

Hello everyone, this is my first technical tutorial. I thought it would be appropriate to start with an introduction of Gravity Forms and SMS By Connect before getting into the real meat of the matter.

Gravity Forms

Gravity Forms is a WordPress plugin that allows you to create forms for your WordPress website. These forms can be used to gather information from your website’s visitors or customers. You can use these forms for almost any purpose; cplecting contact information, requesting feedback, creating surveys, gathering data for reports, etc.

You may have encountered Gravity Forms forms on several websites. It is one of the most popular WordPress plugins available today with over 2 million downloads on the official WordPress repository.

SMS By Connect

SMS By Connect is a new mobile app developed by 2SMS which integrates with Gravity Forms to allow you to send Mobile Push Notifications to your website’s visitors or customers. This means that you can use Gravity Forms to gather information from your website’s visitors, and then send them a Mobile Push Notification through SMS By Connect without them ever leaving your website.

Integration of Gravity Forms and SMS By Connect

We will now go through a step-by-step process of how to integrate Gravity Forms and SMS By Connect.

Step 1. Go to the Gravity Forms administration panel and log in as an administrator. You can find the login link at the bottom left corner of the page.

Step 2. In the left sidebar, click “Forms” under “Forms”. This will bring up a list of all your forms that have been created using Gravity Forms. Select the form that you wish to integrate with SMS By Connect from the list.

Step 3. In the top right corner, click on “Settings”. This will bring up a list of different settings that you can apply to your form. We will now configure our form to integrate with SMS By Connect. Under “SMS Integration”, click on “Enable” as shown below:

Step 4. Now we need to configure our form to use our own Mobile Numbers and associated Mobile Device IDs for sending messages through SMS By Connect. First we need to enter our Mobile Number and Mobile Device ID into the respective fields as shown below:

Step 5. Next we need to choose which recipients (i.e. site visitors. should receive messages through SMS By Connect if they submit your form. The easiest way to accomplish this is to uncheck the “Check Registration Box” option as shown below. This will automatically enable the checkbox next to “Send messages to all subscribers”, and also display a dropdown list where you can select which recipients should receive messages through SMS By Connect. Check “Send messages to all subscribers” as shown below. Step 6. Finally we need to configure which messages should be sent through SMS By Connect if a certain field value is selected in the form as shown below. To do this, simply select the “Receive messages when form value matches selection(s. below” checkbox as shown below, and then select which message(s. should be sent based on your selection(s. in the second dropdown list as shown below. After making these selections, simply press “Save Changes”. Congratulations! You have successfully integrated Gravity Forms with SMS By Connect! Now every time someone submits your form, you can send them a Mobile Push Notification through SMS By Connect!
