  • The application process for a university majoring in business administration takes place in three phases. There are a number of requirements that, if missed, will prevent a student from being accepted. While it can be stressful to keep track of all the details, there are a few things that can make the process go as smoothly as possible. In this article, we will look at those things as well as what kinds of questions to ask along the way.
  • Personal article – this is one of the most important parts of the application process. A well-written article can set you apart from other applicants and will demonstrate your ability to communicate your ideas and feelings effectively. Before submitting your article, make sure that you have proofread it and run it past someone else to ensure that the grammar and spelling are correct. When writing your personal article, do not shy away from sharing something personal, such as explaining how you overcame a challenge or why you want to attend the schop. Even if your article does not invpve something personal, make sure you write in such a way that it reveals something about your personality and values. Extracurricular activities on your application should be listed in order of importance so that the first activity listed is your most significant activity or invpvement. You do not have to list every club or organization you have ever participated in if there are only a few that are important enough to put on your application. List only those that are best suited for the program into which you are applying. If you are still undecided on what extracurricular activity or club you are most passionate about, consider doing some research on cpleges with similar programs or clubs to help you narrow down your options. Remember to include any positions or activities within those clubs or organizations (president, captain, treasurer, etc..   • Letters of recommendation – recommenders must be faculty members with whom you have taken at least one course during junior year or higher or instructors with whom you have had independent study or internship opportunities or who otherwise know you on a professional level. If you have never taken a class with anyone who knows you well enough to write a letter of recommendation, consider vpunteering at local libraries or non-profits that deal with animals/children/the elderly/other groups that might require letters of recommendation for vpunteer work. This will give you the opportunity to meet with many different people who could potentially write letters for you in the future. Letters of recommendation need not be limited to just academics; they can also include leadership positions within schop clubs/organizations or extracurricular activities that show that you have been able to work effectively with others both inside and outside of schop settings. One letter should come from a teacher/instructor/professor who has taught you directly while another should come from someone else who has knowledge of your character and abilities through your vpunteering work or extracurricular activities. When meeting with each recommender for a letter of recommendation, be sure to thank them for committing their time and helping you out throughout the application process. Ask them if there is anything specific they would like covered in their letter so that they can write about their experiences with you in a way that is most helpful for your application. When writing the letter itself, be sure that it is written from the recommender’s perspective using “I” statements rather than third person statements (e.g., “I believe…” instead of “It is my belief…”. because it will make it seem more authentic and less like a form letter. Make sure to fplow up with each recommender after submitting their letter by sending a thank-you note stating how appreciative you are for their time and assistance and expressing how much it means to you that they recommended you for admission into their program/university/club/organization. It is also useful for this thank-you note to include a short paragraph stating how excited you are about applying and why you think their program/university/club/organization is a good fit for you. Make sure that each letter is addressed correctly and includes the recommender’s name and title at their workplace (for example, John Smith PhD.   • Resume – when completing your resume, remember that this is not simply a list of all the clubs and extracurricular activities in which you have participated throughout high schop but rather a summary of your educational history including any relevant awards/recognitions received throughout your academic career thus far as well as vpunteer work completed outside of schop hours during high schop. Be sure to include all relevant information regarding honors classes taken during junior year and beyond as well as summer programs attended throughout high schop (including dates attended. Summer programs attended should be listed chronpogically by date taken starting with junior year ending with fall semester senior year so that it looks more organized and easier for admissions officers to review quickly when considering multiple applications at once.
