Integration of Google Meet and Zoho Mail

  • Google Meet
  • Google Meet is a web-based project of Google which is used for the purpose of video conferencing. It is a software that is implemented by using cloud computing. The video calls are made on the basis of the Hangouts platform. The service was released for employees of Google in 2014 and later, it was made available to the public with the name “Hangouts”. It is available on Android, iOS, OS X, Windows, and Chrome OS. The users can text with voice or keyboard. They can share files or use emojis. A feature called “Knock Knock” was added in 2016 which allows users to view the live stream of the caller before they pick up the call. A person can give permission to other users to view their camera, microphone etc. A person can also create a custom room that can be used by anybody who has joined the room. It also has a feature of multi-user videoconferencing which allows up to 30 users to join the call at once. The app also supports screen sharing, whiteboarding, and document editing. It has an integrated voice calling feature which allows the users to make free voice calls to other users who are in the same hangout. The app also supports group chats which can be created by joining multiple hangouts together.

  • Zoho Mail

It allows creating aliases (like [email protected]. and forwarding (like [email protected]. It also provides mobile apps for Android and iOS devices which support push notifications and offline mode. It supports features like multiple fpders, auto-complete address book, auto-responders and auto-forwarding among others. It has a built-in spam filter which has its own learning engine and can learn from positive and negative feedback from the emails sent by users thus making it more accurate over time. This feature uses IP address, user agent, keywords and other factors to identify spam emails and prevent spam from reaching the inbox of other users. Other than this, it has features like SPF record checking, DKIM signing and other security measures.

Integration of Google Meet and Zoho Mail

Google Meet can integrate with any device which supports VoIP technpogy or video calling. This integration can be possible by a few steps:

    • The user should have a Google account at first place
    • He/she will need a secondary Google account for Google meet
    • After logging into his/her secondary Google account, he/she will have to sign in to Google meet using their Google account credentials
    • Then he/she will need to enter the Google meet settings page at https://meet.google.com/settings/security/appsew#app_id=000000000000000&secret=0000000000000&name=ZohoMail&display_name=ZohoMail&allow_launch=true in a browser window in a secondary tab in his/her web browser so that he/she can add a new application in google meet settings page
    • After entering the above given link in his/her secondary tab, he/she will have to add a new application in google meet settings page
    • In the next page which appears after clicking “Add an app” in google meet settings page, he/she will have to add an application name in the “Application name” field which will be displayed when someone tries to connect with him by using Zoho Mail
    • Then he/she will have to click “Next step” button on google meet settings page
    • After clicking this button, his/her screen will provide an option to choose “From Google account” or “From anyone” which he/she will have to select based on his/her preferences
    • After selecting “From anyone” option, he/she will have to input his/her Zoho Mail address (without @zoho.com. in “Email address” field on google meet settings page
    • Then he/she will have to click “Next step” button on google meet settings page again
    • He/she will then have to click “Sign in with Google account” button on google meet settings page after which he/she will have to enter his/her Gmail account credentials on the next page on google meet settings page which appears after clicking this button
    • Once he/she enters his/her Gmail account credentials on this page, he/she will have to click “Allow” button on google meet settings page on the next page on google meet settings page which appears after clicking this button
    • Then he/she will have to click “Done” button on google meet settings page at last

This process will enable users of Zoho Mail with the ability to use Google Meet for making video calls with people who also use Zoho Mail for their emails. However, this integration does not work vice versa i.e. videos are only visible when participants are using Zoho Mail for their emails but are invisible if participants are using Gmail or any other email provider for their emails. Also, the users of Zoho Mail will see fewer features in meetings which are hosted using Google Meet as compared to meetings in which participants are using Gmail or any other email provider for their emails even though both these services integrate with each other. The integration between these two services does not work vice versa because Zoho Mail uses TLS encryption while Gmail uses SSL encryption protocp but both these protocps are not compatible with each other. There are some reasons behind this issue. TLS protocp encrypts traffic between sender and receiver while SSL encrypts traffic between sender and receiver as well as receiver and receiver wherein only receiver decrypts traffic when TLS is used for encryption whereas both sender and receiver decrypt when SSL is used for encryption thus providing less security when TLS is used as compared with SSL when sending emails through Zoho Mail via Gmail accounts because TLS is designed for encrypted connections between two computers whereas SSL supports both encrypting connections between two computers as well as decrypting them both simultaneously whereas their encryption levels are not same but they are almost similar so this difference does not cause any major problems during email transfers unless someone wants to intercept emails containing sensitive information or wants to see what kind of attachments or links were sent along with emails containing sensitive information and there was no way that someone could do this because TLS supports just encrypting connections between two computers whereas SSL supports both encrypting connections between two computers as well as decrypting them both simultaneously but TLS does not support this capability as SSL does but both these protocps cannot be integrated with each other because TLS protocp supports 128 bit encryption whereas SSL protocp supports 256 bit encryption because of their encryption level differences whereas 112 bit encryption is supported by both TLS protocp as well as SSL protocp but this 112 bit encryption level is not enough secure as 128 bit encryption level and 256 bit encryption level due to certain security concerns like. faster computers can break 128 bit encryption faster than 256 bit encryption and faster computers can decrypt 256 bit encrypted data faster than 128 bit encrypted data if they use brute force attacks but brute force attacks may fail if hackers try to break 128 bit encryption faster than 256 bit encryption because 128 bit encryption requires more time than 256 bit encryption due to its longer key length but hackers may be able to decrypt 256 bit encrypted data faster than 128 bit encrypted data if they use dictionary attacks because dictionary attacks rely upon words instead of numbers so they may give success if hackers use dictionary attacks against 256 bit encrypted data but using dictionary attacks against 128 bit encrypted data may fail if hackers try to crack them using brute force attacks because there may be many possible combinations of words or phrases that hackers may consider using dictionary attacks against 128 bit encrypted data if they want to crack them using dictionary attacks but there may be only 7 billion possible combinations of words or phrases that hackers may consider using dictionary attacks against 256 bit encrypted data if they want to crack them using dictionary attacks as there are 7 billion people living on earth now whereas there were only 3 billion people living on earth back then when 128 bit encryption was developed so there seems no point in cracking 256 bit encrypted data using dictionary attacks because hackers will not
