  • Google Tasks is a new (and free. addition to Google Keep. It allows users to keep track of their tasks and ideas. Thinkific is a third-party platform that hosts content, such as webinars and courses, on demand. Thinkific also allows users to create courses and sell them.

    Thinkific is a new learning management system (LMS. Thinkific allows users to create courses and sell them on its marketplace. The site supports multiple payment methods, including PayPal and Stripe. Thinkific also provides analytics and statistics on sales and student engagement. Thinkific does not charge any upfront or setup fees and will pay authors on a per-sale basis.

    Integration of Google Tasks and Thinkific

    Google Tasks can be integrated with Thinkific via the Google Chrome extension, called “TaskU”, as well as it being available as an app on iOS and Android devices. This integration allows users to access both of these platforms from one interface.

    Once integrated, users can share tasks between the two platforms. For example, a user can create a task in Google Tasks and then share it to a student’s Thinkific course. When a student opens the task in Thinkific, they can view all of the information about the task, including the due date, attachments, students, etc., for that particular task. This eliminates the need for a separate notebook for each platform. In addition, tasks can be passed down from teachers to students. A teacher could post a task in Google Tasks which would appear in their students’ Thinkific course as well as vice versa.

    Included with the integration of Google Tasks and Thinkific is the ability to assign a task to a student through either platform. To do this, a teacher can simply select a student from his/her course within Thinkific and then right click that student’s name. The teacher will have the option to send that student a task from Google Tasks or vice versa. In addition, students can create tasks from their Google Tasks account which they can view within their Thinkific course as well as vice versa. If a student chooses to create a task from his/her Google Tasks account, the task will appear as a card in their course, just as it would if sent from the teacher.

    As mentioned above, tasks can be shared between users of each platform. As you can see below, there are multiple ways to get tasks to your students. Not only does this eliminate the need for separate notebooks for each platform but also allows educators to easily share tasks with their students.
