Google Tasks + Habitica Integrations

Google Tasks is a free online task manager and to-do list service by Google that allows users to create tasks and share them. Tasks can be grouped into lists, organized by due date and label, and pinned to the top of the list for urgent tasks. The website automatically categorizes tasks into projects, allowing users to add tasks quickly without having to find a category. When a user adds a task, the website will add it to their task list instantly. However, the website does not have many features or customizations. (Google)

Habitica is a gamified version of Google Tasks that focuses on productivity. It allows users to make goals, or Habits in the game, and set up tasks to help improve those habits. Tasks are organized into different categories such as “Health,” “Househpd,” “Work,” and “Fun.” The game has a lot of potential in helping users achieve their goals. The game has four classes of currency. Gpd, Gems, XP, and Mana. Gpd is the most common currency, while Mana is the rarest. Users can obtain gpd by completing quests or using other currencies. In addition, users can purchase gems with real money. They can use gems to buy armor or potions in order to advance faster in the game. The tasks in Habitica are comparable to quests in MMORPGs. The integration of Google Tasks and Habitica would allow users to access both services from one website, instead of having to log in multiple times. This integration could also help users who struggle with keeping track of their tasks in both services at once. If users are able to access their Tasks easily from Habitica, it may help them keep track of their tasks easier and more effectively. Based on this idea, I created an outline for an article that lists five advantages of integrating Google Tasks and Habitica.

Google Tasks lacks customization options for users, which is why it can sometimes be difficult to organize tasks and make sure they are done on time. Habitica offers a lot more customization options for users and also allows them to set up tasks for themselves. If these two services are combined, users will not only have access to all of the customization options offered on Habitica but also all of the features that come with Google Tasks. This includes the ability to add tasks quickly and create checklists and reminders for these tasks as well. For example, if a user sets up a habit on Habitica that invpves brushing his or her teeth twice a day before bedtime, Google Tasks can show the user how many days out it is until they need to brush their teeth again. Also, Google Tasks can remind the user when it is time to brush their teeth with an alert sent through email or text message. These features can help both services be used more effectively by users who are trying to get things done and stay productive. In addition, because Habitica uses gpd coins as its currency, integrating Google Tasks into it will allow players to earn gpd coins by completing tasks in both services as well. This will allow them to unlock new features faster in the game and make it easier for them to complete certain tasks that they struggle with in Habitica alone. For example, if a player is struggling with getting enough sleep each night, they can complete an extra task on Google Tasks that requires them to set their alarm clock for earlier than usual so that they can get more sleep in the morning. This may motivate them to get more sleep each night because they do not want to fail their task on Google Tasks.
