Integration of Google Tasks and Agendor

Google Tasks

Google Tasks is a to-do list service provided by Google. It allows users to add tasks and subtasks and share them with others.

Agendor

Agendor is an open source project that allows people to create and manage software projects. It has been developed for more than 10 years and is used all around the world.

Integration of Google Tasks and Agendor

Google Tasks and Agendor can be integrated in different ways. One way is to use the IMAP protocp, which lets Agendor check if new tasks have been created on Google Tasks and creates new entries in Agendor whenever this is the case. This allows users to add new tasks right from within Agendor. Another way is to add a transport method to Agendor, so that it becomes possible to add tasks from other applications via the user interface of Agendor. Both ways are described in this chapter.

Benefits of Integration of Google Tasks and Agendor

The integration of Google Tasks and Agendor brings a lot of benefits:

It reduces the time spent on repetitive work because the user only has to add a new task once and then the task is available in multiple places. This includes both new tasks added in Agendor via the integration described above, as well as tasks added in Agendor using the normal import feature that allows tasks from other systems or files to be imported into Agendor. For example, if a task is created in an email, it can easily be added to Agendor after adding a transport method. This also makes it possible to use Agendor for tracking tasks created in other systems. For example, if a task is created in a bug tracker, it can be added to Agendor after adding an import method for the corresponding file format. Then the user only has to add a task once, instead of adding it in two different places. As described before, when using the IMAP protocp, new tasks will automatically be added to Agendor when they are created on Google Tasks. If the user adds a new task in Agendor manually, it will be synchronized with Google Tasks automatically when the user opens the task again in Agender. This makes it easy for users to keep track of tasks without having to think about synchronizing them manually. Although this may seem trivial at first, it really helps in the long term because many users do not remember to synchronize their calendars or address books regularly. It keeps the history of changes in sync between two systems. For example, when using the IMAP protocp, all changes made to tasks on Google Tasks will be reflected in Agender. This includes creating new tasks, editing existing tasks or deleting tasks. This makes it easy to see what has happened in the past and also keeps pd data available, even if it was deleted on one system or the other. The same applies when using an import method for importing tasks from another system/file into Agender. It increases productivity through better context switching between different applications. For example, if a user creates an entry in an email application during work time and wants to finish off the task later at home, he has two options. either he creates an entry in his calendar to remind himself about the task, or he creates an entry in Google Tasks to remind himself about the email entry he made during work time. When using Google Tasks and Agendor together, he does not need either of these options because he can just switch back into his calendar or his email application and continue working on this task there.

The process to integrate Google Tasks and Agendor may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
